Abstract

Abstract

 

 

The objectives of the study were to 1) Study level of the people’s participation in drug prevention in Ban Klang Subdistrict, Mueang Lamphun Police Station  2) Compare level of the people’s participation in drug prevention in Ban Klang Subdistrict, MueangLamphun Police Station. 3) Study the problem and suggestion of the people’s participation in drug prevention in Ban Klang Subdistrict, Mueang  Lamphun Police Station. 4) Study solving guideline of the people’s participation in drug prevention in Ban Klang Subdistrict, Mueang Lamphun Police Station.

This research was Mixed Method by quantitative research and qualitative research. A sample was selected from the people who live in Ban Klang Subdistrict, Mueang, Lamphun 9,372 cases. Determining the sample was using by quota to compare quantity of the people with standard table with size of the people and size of the example of Krejcie & Morgan at confidence level at 95%.  The number of samples used to collect data is 370 samples. The data were analyzed by Frequency, Percentage, Mean and Standard deviation, T-test and F-test, One Way Analysis of Variance and collected data by interviewing from the police officers of Banklang Subdistrict police station 14 cases.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The results of the study were as follows:

1. The people’s participation in drug prevention in Ban Klang Subdistrict, Mueang Lamphun Police Station by overview there was a high level. Average            ( =3.79) and when considered by side found that the participation of joining activities, the participation of solving the problem and the participation of planning, the people had participated in high level.  The participation of acknowledging and the participation of giving an opinion, the people had participated in medium level with average of descending sequence. The participation of joining activities,                ( =4.03).  The participation of planning, ( =4.02).  The participation of solving problem, ( =3.98). The participation of acknowledging, ( =3.47).  The participation of giving an opinion, ( =3.43)

2. Comparison of The people’s participation in drug prevention in Ban Klang Subdistrict, Mueang Lamphun Police Station base on gender age education background and income found that there was no difference of the people’s participation of narcotic control.

 

3. Regarding to an investigation of people’s participation in problems, obstacles and suggestions at Banklang subdistrict Meuang Lamphun police station in order to prevent and solving drug problems, we found out that the main cause of drug problems is from workers who emigrated from other areas to Lumphun industrial estates and live in dormitories. They do not have Banklang census registration; therefore, it is hard to control and regulate drug problems. Moreover,   the people have not been encouraged and provided knowledge of protections and solutions of drug problems. Plus, they deny coordinating with police officers in order to provide the information of drug trading including arresting drug addicted people to a drug addicted treatment, accordingly, it is hard to control drug problems.

4. To encourage people in Banklang subdistrict Mueang lamphun police station to participate in drug controls effectively, we should educate and motivate them and their leaders to understand about disadvantages and dangers of drugs. Consequently, people in the locations would be more concerned and able to protect and prepare solutions of drug problems.
