Abstract

Abstract

         The objectives of this research were : (1) to study Educational Management Skills of the Abbot in Sangha Administration of Nakhonpathom Province, (2) to compare Educational Management Skills of the Abbot in Sangha Administration of Nakhonpathom Province, (3) to study the problems , obstacles and suggestions to Educational Management Skills of the Abbot in Sangha Administration of Nakhonpathom Province. This research is the mixed method research. The sampling group was 362 Buddhist monks from in the Sangha Administration of Nakornpathom province. The researcher had the data analysis through frequencies, percentage, and average, standard deviation (S.D) for describing data from variables or personal characteristics. The analysis was also done through t-test for analysis the hypotheses in order to test the average difference between the two groups and f- test by one-way ANOVA and in-depth interview from 7 key informants and the content data analysis.

         The findings of this research as following :

         1. The monks had the opinions to educational management skill of the abbots in Sangha administration of Nakhonpathom province in overall, was at high level, had an average at (X=3.87). When considered in each aspect, found that the monks had the opinions to educational management skill of the abbots in Sangha administration of Nakhonpathom province, was at high level. The highest opinion was the human relation skill that had an average at 3.92 and the lowest opinion was the technical skill that had an average at 3.78.

         2. The findings the opinions comparison of monks to educational management skill of the abbots in Sangha administration of Nakhonpathom province, classified by personal data that tested the hypothesis, found that the monks had the differences of age, ordination year, Dhamma Study, Pali Study, general education, had the opinion to educational management skill of the abbots in Sangha administration of Nakhonpathom province differently. It is statistically significance at 0.05. It accepted the hypothesis.

         3. The problem, obstacles and guidelines for the educational management skill of the abbots in Sangha administration of Nakhonpathom province, found that the abbots are too old and can’t use the modern media and equipment. Some abbots are strict with rank, position, no determination of educational policy, teaching like sermon, no understanding the educational system,

         Suggestions from the study of problem and obstacle, are the abbots in Sangha administrative area in Nakhonpathom province, should have the meeting and planning regularly for more potential development.
