Abstract
The objective of the research were : 1) to study the opinions of the people to the sermon of the monks at Donthong sub-district, Mueang district, Phitsanulok province, 2) to study the opinion of the peoples to the sermon of monks at Donthong sub-district, Mueang district, Phitsanulok province, 3) to study the problems, obstacles and suggestions to opinions of the people to the sermon of the monks at Donthong sub-district, Mueang district, Phitsanulok province. The sampling group was 389 people to the Sermon of Monks at Donthong Sub-District, Mueang District, Phitsanulok Province. This research is the mixed method research. The quantitative research is the survey research from questionnaire and qualitative research is from in depth interview from key informants to support the quantitative research. The data analysis was through frequency, percentage, and average, standard deviation (S.D) for describing data from variables or personal characteristics. The analysis was also done through t-test for analysis the hypotheses in order to test the average difference between the two groups and f - test by one-way NOVA and the data analysis was from interview by using the content analysis technique.
The findings of this research as following :
1. The opinions of the peoples to the sermon of the monks at Donthong sub-district, Mueang district, Phitsanulok province in overall, was at moderate level with an average 3.06 and when considered in each aspect and found that the opinions of the people to the sermon of the monks at Donthong sub-district, Mueang district, Phitsanulok province, for the properly behavior to sermon, sermon pattern, sermon technique, sermon content, in over all, was at moderate level of all aspects.
2. The findings the comparison to the opinions of the people to the sermon of the monks at Donthong sub-district, Mueang district, Phitsanulok province, classified by personal data that found that the people who had the difference of gender, educational level, had the opinion, in overall, indifferently. It rejected the hypothesis. But the people, who had the difference of age and career, had the opinion, in overall, differently. It was significantly statistics at 0.05. It accepted the hypothesis.
3. The problems, obstacles and guidelines for the opinions of the people to the sermon of the monks at Donthong sub-district, Mueang district, Phitsanulok province, found that the lack of explaining for better understand when should speak and what should speak and how to speak, should have the art of speech, lack of good behavior, lack of respect and faith , lack of introduce for good matter and benefit that can explain the complicated matter to easily understand, lack of proper content and speech and interesting pronunciation, summarize the proper content and be practicable, lack of modern media for Dhamma propagation for more interesting content, easily understand, lack of Dhamma comparison, lack of Buddhist proverb, funny word, joking, poem, lack of short and sharp Dhamma content, modern content to match with the present world, and lack of example that to be applied in daily life.
Suggestions : should explain clearly and to know when to speak , what to speak and how to speak smartly with arts of speech, should behave well as good example, faith and respect, introduce good things and benefits, can explain the complicated matter to easily understand the content and phrase and more interesting pronunciation, should explain the content politely and clearly by step to step, have the content summary, can practice ,should have the modern media for Dhamma propagation for more interesting and easily, should have comparison to match with Dhamma for telling the story and give an example, should have the Buddhist proverb, funny words, poem, should have short and sharp Dhamma content and clearly, should have the modern content to match with the present world.
