Abstract
The thematic paper, “An Analytical Study of Quality of Life Development on Abhinhapaccavekkhana” had the main purposes to study Abhinhapaccavekkhana in Phrasutta scripture and to analyze the development of life quality according to Abhinhapaccavekkhana.
A result of this study was found that Abhinhapaccavekkhana was meant the continuous consideration of four states: oldness, illness, death, separation from satisfied things, and action that a person produced and owned. A person who produced the action had to see its result. These states controlled all beings in a way that all living creatures could be free from their power. The state of oldness was that the skin was dried-up and tardy. Illness was a body infected by diseases to make a body imperfect in its duties and then, illness was apparent. Death was the state of a body without the vitality. This body could not stay further and it had to be ruin. The separation from the loved things was to lose the occupied things with love and attachment. Finally, that the beings owned their action produced with intention caused a result of the action in a way that to produce good action caused a good result and in turn, to produce a bad action produced a bad action.
The continuous consideration of oldness helped a person to leave or release voluptuousness in the teenage. The continuous consideration of illness helped a person to leave or release voluptuousness in non-illness. The continuous consideration of death helped a person to leave or release voluptuousness in life such as authority. The continuous consideration of separation from loved things helped a person to leave or release voluptuousness in the loved things. The continuous consideration of action that belonged to the actor helped a person to leave or release immoral action and produce moral action. The value and benefits of Abhinhapaccavekkhana came to the practical learners in two aspects: (1) good personality including carefulness, mental stability, and mental peace even from the faced calamity, and (2) mental health, i.e. mental peace and happiness. The value and benefits for the other people were to make them free from persecution and in turn, to encourage them in good action for the other persons. The Value and benefits for the society was a result of the individual behaviour in the society. When majority of people had good action and developed their mind, the society was full of peace and happiness. The benefits for Buddhism were a result of the Buddhists’ consideration and practice according to Abhinhapaccavekkhana. As a result, Buddhism was stable for ever.
