Abstract
The objectives of the thesis entitled “Solid Waste Management According to Buddhadhamma of People in Thunghuachang Sub-district Municipality, Thunghuachang District, Lamphun Province” were as follows: 1) to study the cause and solid waste management of people in Thung Hua Chang sub-district municipality, Thung Hua Chang district, Lamphun province. 2) to examine the solid waste management of people in Thung Hua Chang sub-district municipality, Thung Hua Chang district, Lamphun province and 3) to investigate the guideline of solid waste management of people in Thung Hua Chang sub-district municipality, Thung Hua Chang district, Lamphun province. This research was conducted by qualitative research method and to in depth interview. The researcher was selected from 15 respondents with the key informant, including the 1st group the people who have the knowledge, understanding and direct experience in operation of solid waste consisted of 10 people. The 2nd group the Buddhist scholar consisted of 1 person and the 3rd group means officials and people in the area consisted of 4 people.
The findings of this research were found as follows:
1) the cause and solid waste management of people in Thung Hua Chang sub-district municipality, Thung Hua Chang district, Lamphun province was the role of local governments to follow the Public Health Act 2535 and The relevant provisions of the National Environmental Quality Act 2535 combined with the expansion of economic prosperity stores, market affected to increate of solid waste continuously and affected to people quality of life. Thung Hua Chang sub-district municipality began a campaign for providing the knowledge to the community people about solid waste management in the right way by arranging solid waste management project in Thung Hua Chang sub-district municipality in fiscal year 2558 and activities continued in fiscal 2559 in order to people to get knowledge in waste management in the right way and good conscious mind to keep clean.
2) The lid waste management of people in Thung Hua Chang sub-district municipality, Thung Hua Chang district, Lamphun province was found that there was sorted out waste within household before taking waste to a waste disposal facility by using black garbage and red garbage bags. The black garbage bag put out leaves and plastic waste was sorted then distributed back to the household income. The red garbage bag contained hazardous waste, the municipality will get rid of waste properly by without the toxic and affect the environment in the community. Most problems of people were still lack the knowledge, lack of understanding, lack of awareness and awareness about the right way to waste management. In order that the waste management project there were participants less than the targets, including 80 percent of all households with only 28 percent of households participated. Therefore, Thun Hua Chang sub-district municipality has to rush to solve these problems by proactive public relations to people had been participated in waste management according to objectives.
3) The guideline of solid waste management according to Buddhadhamma of people in Thung Hua Chang sub-district municipality, Thung Hua Chang district, Lamphun province by the principle of Iddhipada IV, including Chanda should promote the knowledge to people and awareness of the importance of preserving the environment until satisfaction to waste management by their own self. Viriya should promote the people to have commitment, perseverance to waste management. Citta should frequently urge to people in loving community by knowing objectives in waste management, making the motivation and morale to practitioners. Vimamsa should frequently check the system of waste management, listen to people opinion then took various faults for improvement.
