Abstract
This thesis has three objectives; to study Pārisuddhisīla in the Theravāda Buddhist scripture, to study the insight meditation practice in Theravāda Buddhist Scriptures, to study Pārisuddhisīla in the insight meditation practice. Clarified data are taken from the Theravāda Buddhist Scriptures and other related documents, then composed, summarized, analyzed, explained in details, corrected and verified by Buddhist scholars. From the study it found that;
The Four Pārisuddhisīlas means morality consisting in purity or morality causes purification. They are (1) Pātimokkhasaṃvarasīla is the moral discipline as regards the Fundamental Precepts; restraint with regard the monastic disciplinary code. (2) Indriyasaṃvarasīla is the discipline as regard sense–restraint-eye, ear, nose, tongue, body and mind, without Akusaladhamma, Abhijjhā and Domanassa
(3) Ᾱjīvapārisuddhisīla is the discipline as regards purity of livelihood.
(4) Paccayasannissitasīla is the discipline as regards the necessities of life.
Vipassanābhāvanā is the practice according to the Four Foundations of Mindfulness where by the body is a principal base. By knotting the emotion appears at present moment in the four bases namely (1) the contemplation of body (2) the contemplation of feeling (3) the contemplation of mind (4) the contemplation of mind - objects. The dhamma cores are an effort, mindfulness, sampajanna, rising together at every moment of knotting. That is the right Vipassanā Meditation Practice.
The completion of the four Parisuddhisila helps to generate mindfulness. When knotting the mindfulness must be there, clearly aware of body movement, to clearly know the suffering derive from Vedanā, to clearly know of mind thinking, knowing of mind-objects such as eye contacts with form. To realize knotted things as they naturally are by Vipassanā Ñāṇa, seeing the impermanence, suffering, non-self. Because there is a cause, then rising happens. When the cause is away, then falling appears. Vipassanā Ñāṇa which grown up and strong simultaneously can finally eliminate Vipalāsa and Abhijjhā right away.
