Abstract
This thematic paper “A Study of Tipitaka, Sucheep Poonyanupap Volume in Development” had main purposes: to study a general idea in Tipitaka and to study Tipitaka, Sucheep Poonyanupap volume in development. This was a qualitative research to collect all data from Tipitaka, Sucheep Poonyanupap volume, books, texts and related researches with the descriptive analysis.
A result of studying a general idea in Tipitaka was found that expanding Dhamma didn’t have in a way of written language but in memory called “Mukapatha”, not a word “Tipitaka”. The Buddhist Principles were not collected or classified, then the Lord Buddha suggested Sucheep to classify them to prevent conflicts among the priests. There were many reformations among Buddhist countries including Thailand that had reformation and printing Tipitaka many times. In current reign, there were Dhamma reformation and translation of Tipitaka and description from Pali to Thai; by Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya 45 volumes and by Mahamakutrajavidyalaya 91 volums.
A result of studying Tipitaka, Sucheep Poonyanupap volume in development was found that the characteristic of writing was to conclude 10% to
1% of the content by leaving the repeated phrases and taking only easily-remembered principles. The style of writing dealt with the orderly organized content for easy comprehension. The style of representation in each part started giving a main idea, and then a supporting idea. It dealt with the description of content for easy comprehension in accordance with sociology, humanism, archaeology and history. There was the foreigners’ opinion because there was some English words translated in Tripitaka. There was also the Pali word without any translation. If there was some word mentioned before, it was useless to do it again.
