ABSTRACT
This research had the followings objectives : 1 ) to study the attitude towards Buddhist ceremony in the Buddhist holy days of lower secondary students in extended opportunity schools Chumsang district, Nakhonsawan province, 2) to compare the students’ opinions towards Buddhist ceremony in the Buddhist holy days of lower secondary students in extended opportunity schools Chumsang district, Nakhonsawan province classified by personal factors and 3) to study problems and obstacles as well as the suggestions for the attitude towards Buddhist ceremony in the Buddhist holy days of lower secondary students in extended opportunity schools Chumsang district, Nakhonsawan province.
The samples of the study consisted of 215 lower secondary students in extended opportunity schools at Chumsang, Nakhonsawan province. This research applied the survey research. The tool used questionnaire. The data were analyzed with statistical approach to find frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The tests of hypotheses were applied t-test, One way ANOVA and Least significant difference: LSD.
The results were concluded as follows:
The totally students’ opinions in extended opportunity schools at Chumsang district, Nakhonsawan province had grade attitude towards the Buddhist ceremony in the Buddhist important days is high level ( = 4.16). Dividing to each opinion is also similarly level (standard division is 0.44). Totally grad for students’ attendance the Buddhist ceremony is high level ( = 4.28, S.D.= 0.35)
A comparative of this research of the students’ opinions towards Buddhist ceremony in the Buddhist holy days of lower secondary students in extended opportunity schools Chumsang district, Nakhonsawan province classified by personal factors found that they had unrelated attitude towards the Buddhist ceremony in the Buddhist holy days. Data of problems and obstacles for the attitude towards Buddhist ceremony in the Buddhist holy days of lower secondary students in extended opportunity schools Chumsang district, Nakhonsawan province is shown students disregard for the holy of Buddhist ceremony in the Buddhist holy days. Most student’s opinion present that these days are wasted time and money, cheerless, and careless and unsupported from parent. Moreover, some teachers are not support and facilitate for this day.
The suggestions are: 1) the administrators in level of province, educational service area and school should provide a policy for Buddhist ceremony activities aim to stimulate student to realize the importance and improve positive attitude in Buddhist holy attendance and 2) support student and related person’s in the associated activities continuously may increase positive attitude for Buddhist ceremony.
