Abstract

              The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the leadership according to Pãpanikadhamma (qualities of a successful shopkeeper) of the abbots in Bueng Sam Phan District, Phetchabun Province, 2) to compare the leadership according to Pãpanikadhamma of the abbots in Bueng Sam Phan District, Phetchabun by classifying on the personal factors, and 3) to study the problems, obstacles and suggestions for the leadership according to Pãpanikadhamma (qualities of a successful shopkeeper) of the abbots in Bueng Sam Phan District, Phetchabun Province.

          This research applied the Mixed Methods Research consisting of the qualitative and quantitative research. The sample was 178 monks in Bueng Sam Phan District, Phetchabun Province. The tools of the research were questionnaire and in-Depth interview from the 9 key informants. The analysis of data used Statistical Package for Social Science. The statistics for analysis data used Frequencies, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation,t-test and F-test with One Way ANOVA and Least Significant Difference: LSD.

Results of the Research

              1. Overall, the leadership according to Pãpanikadhamma of the abbots in Bueng Sam Phan District, Phetchabun Province was at the high level (=3.47). When considering each aspect, it was found that the Vidhuro (Capable of admini9stering business) was at the highest level (=3.61). Then, the Nissayasampanno (having good credit rating) was =3.45. However, the Cakkhuma (Shrewd) was at the lowest level (=3.34).

              2. The monks having the different age, year, degree of education in Dhamma, degree of education in Pali and degree of General education had no the different opinion toward the leadership according to Pãpanikadhamma of the abbots in Bueng Sam Phan District, Phetchabun Province. Therefore, the hypothesis was denied

              3. The problems and obstacles of the leadership according to Pãpanikadhamma of the abbots in Bueng Sam Phan District, Phetchabun Province were that the monks sometimes had no introspection in working, and was the insufficient knowledge and capability in the management. Moreover, the monks rarely applied the knowledge and thought for the management. The budge management was inefficient. The ways for the development of the leadership according to Pãpanikadhamma of the abbots in Bueng Sam Phan District, Phetchabun Province were that the monks should have the introspection in working and learn the knowledge to apply for the management. Moreover, the monks should apply the technology for the information system management in the budge management.
