ADMINISTRATION BASED ON BUDDHIST GOOD GOVERNANCE OF PAKCHONG SUBDISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION, LOM SAK DISTRICT PHETCHABUN PROVINCE

Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research had 3 objectives: 1) to study the concept and theory of Good Governance and Buddhist Good Governance into the administration of Pakchong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Lomsak District, Phetchabun Province; 2) to study the condition of general problems of the people towards the administration based on Buddhist Good Governance of Pakchong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Lomsak District, Phetchabun Province classified by personal factor; and 3) to present the problems features and suggestions to correct concerning the administrator based on Buddhist Good Governance of Pakchong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Lomsak District, Phetchabun Province. This study was the Mixed Method Research consisting of quantitative, survey, and qualitative research. Data was collected by the questionnaire and for the qualitative research, the In-Depth Interview with key informants was selected to use in this study in order to encourage the quantitative research. The field data was received from the population within the area of Pakchong Sub-District, Lomsak District, Phetchabun Province for the amount of 388 persons. Data analysis was done through the statistics as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test and One Way ANOVA.

 

Results of the Research

1) The opinions concerning the administration based on Buddhist Good Governance by Pakchong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Lomsak District, Phetchabun Province, it showed in average at the high level (  = 4.46) When considered into each item, it appeared that the Principle of Giving (  = 4.58), the Principle of Honesty (  = 4.55), the Principle of Fairness (  = 4.52) and the Principle of No Wrath (  = 4.51) were all at the highest levels while the others were at the high ones.

2) Comparing the people’s opinions towards the administration based on Buddhist Good Governance by Pakchong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Lomsak District, Phetchabun Province classified by personal factors as sex, age, educational level, career and income, it was found that people of different ages, educational levels and incomes, but sexes and careers were the same, they showed took different opinions significantly at 0.05 level.

3) The suggestions concerning the administration based on Buddhist Good Governance of Pakchong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Lomsak District, Phetchabun Province, it revealed that the administration should be provided any services with thoroughness and equality, enlarging on education to be sufficient and thorough the areas, encouraging on sports equipments for the villages, enhancing women and children to do the jobs or supplemental careers after doing the rice-field seasons and after school, the working staff of the Organization should speak with polite speeches most of the time, any operation should be performed with tidiness and provided more suggestions for the people within the Sub-District in order to facilitate every section. In addition, the staffs should spend most of their time with the villagers and behave like brothers and sisters without castes, the staffs should be chosen from the ones who really needed to work for the villagers and the villages, willing to share everything with the people thoroughly and equally, should be the persons who appeared to know and realize the real problems of the villagers first, then spent the budget carefully on such problems according to the truth, the staff should be the persons who were qualified with knowledge and ability working with efficiency, providing services to everyone with equality, including they could work continuously and carry on the previous jobs to be achieved promptly, the staffs should not be the ones who took advantages over the others or looked for some benefits for their own or relatives.
