Abstract
This thesis is of 3 objectives, namely:- (1) to study the Buddhist method of spreading the Dhammas, (2) to study the use of the television media for spreading the Doctrinal principles, (3) to analyze the consistency of the Bhuddadhamma dissimination through television medium: a case study of At Ten program; episode of Great Poor Man
This research work is a qualitative one. The researcher has searched the data from the Three Baskets, the commentaries, the books, the related research works, and the Bhuddadhamma dissimination through television medium, the deep interview with Mr. Abhirak Sae-Hua and the related people, the monks who use the television media, the academicians in the mass communication, the producers of the television media and the producer of At Ten of 10 monks and laymen, to analyze and conclude the results.
From the research, it is found that the Buddha used the 10 methods of spreading the Dhammas, namely:- 1) to approach the social leader, 2) to revolve the principles of teaching, 3) to revise the principles of teaching, 4) to propose the principles of teaching the real essences of the teaching in Buddhism, 5) to visit the people, 6) to give services to the communities, 7) to use the miracles, 8) to adapt oneself to be able to reach the local civilization, 9) to spread the Doctrinal Principles with the personality, 10) the conversations and the answering of the questions.
From January to October 2558 B.E. there have been the 34 television program which propose the television program on Saturday and Sunday at 04.00 - 09.00 o’clocks. Such the said television patterns are divided into 7 types, namely:- 1) the type of the description, 2) the type of the conversation, 3) the types of the dramas, 4) the type of the documentary, 5) the type cartoon, 6) the type of the varieties and 7) the type of the reality. All of them, there are the narrative of the stories and many Doctrinal principles most of which emphasize the Five Precepts.
The compossesive part of the methods of the communication and spreading of the Buddha’s Doctrinal principle are of the same points as follows:- 1) the sender of the message is the Buddha, 2) the messages are the Doctrinal principles, 3) the media are the preachings, 4) the receivers of the news are the disciples. In the At Ten program, there is the proposal of the Doctrinal Principles about the gratitude to the parents, which is in compliance with the Three Baskets in 2 characteristics, namely:- 1) the gratitude to the parents with 4 factors appearing in Sonanda Jataka, 2) the gratitude to the parents to cause them to be in the Silas and the Dhammas appearing in Suvanna-Sama-Jata
