From the research, it is found that the strong communities are based on the conscience that people like to cooperate and solve problems, that arise in the societies, through harmony. The people are able to analyze the problems, breakdown the options, and derive the best solution to resolve the problem, which will help solve future problems that occur in the community. This vicious cycle leads the community to be sustainable and attain better quality of lives.
The factors required to build the community’s strength must be developed holistically through the continuous development of the people, the community, and their environment. The organizational development must be achieved by the people, who have feelings and problems, and have the need to resolve these problems. They also desire love, empathy, and sincerity towards one another under the same local intellect, culture and community needs. In supporting the communities to be strong, it is vital to bring in the Buddha’s Dharmma to emotionally connect the people through love and harmony within the community.
The Samchuk community in Suban-Buri Province has full strength. People in the community have joyfully preserved the 100 years market, which is central to the way of living for the community from the past up till now. The monks is the communal center of faith; they support the Buddhist activities to foster relations and connections among the people in the community. At the same time, the monks also empower the emotional development of the people and strengthen them. The youth are nurtured to become trusted individuals. All in all, not only do the monks strengthen the community, they also lay the foundation to equip youth with the conscience to inherit the culture and way of live, and strengthen them as time goes by.
