ABSTRACT

The objectives of this study were (1)  to study the state of management towards monastery construction, (2) to study the management towards monastery construction,                          (3) to present the management towards monastery construction in Samutprakan Province.

This research was the mixed research method between the qualitative research and quantitative research.  For the qualitative research used the documentary research and in-depth interview from 26 key informants and group discussion with 9 specialists  and the quantitative research used the 191 questionnaires. The data analysis was used the social sciences programme for descriptive statistics were the frequency,  percentage, mean,  standard deviation (S.D).

The findings of the research as follows :

1. The state and problem of management towards monastery construction , found that lacked of human resources planning and Sangha administrators lacked of knowledge about the construction and financial factor for construction was not enough and very late so the work was not efficient. The authority lacked of knowledge and experience in examine and then it had the problem of Buddhist management of Sangha administrators like to put the wrong man on the wrong job and lacked of harmony , lacked of the support from other organization and the cooperation in the directing was not continuous and very late. 

2. The process of management towards monastery construction and level of opinions of monks to Management towards monastery construction in Samutprakan Province  , found that the monks had the opinions to  Management towards monastery construction in Samutprakarn Province in overall was at good level(x=3.87), but when considered in each side and found that the opinions of monks to Management towards monastery construction in Samutprakarn Province for the organization management side, it was at the middle level. But others, had the opinions as good levels.           

          3. The management towards monastery construction in Samutprakan Province were : (1) For the planning , should let the educated persons to set the plan for construction, having the plan for financial factor by getting the support from the people slowly and create the arts along with Thai culture support that mixed with doctrine of Buddhism into the buildings. (2) For the organization management , to set up the authority by having the meeting about leadership to take care of buildings directly.     (3) For the personnel or authority, should have the efficient personnel to take responsibility to work of monastery. (4) For the command, should have the meeting with government agencies and the people should set up the activity in the monastery for convincing in cooperation for religious buildings construction. (5) For the maintenance , should have the activity that convince the people to come to the monastery for fund raising or budget for religious buildings construction by having the high efficient committee.
