ABSTRACT
The objectives of this research were of 3 ; 1) to study the general status of leadership of Sangha Affairs Administrative Monks at the Shangha Affairs Administrative Region 8, 2) to apply the appropriate Buddhadhamma and Leadership theory to develop the leadership of the Sangha Affairs Administrative Monks at the Sangha Affairs Administrative Region 8, and 3) to integrate the Buddhadhamma with the leadership theory to develop the leadership of the Sangha Affairs Administrative Monks at the Shangha Affairs Administrative Region 8.
The methodology was the mixed method. As for the quantitative method, data were collected from 297 samples by questionnaires and analyzed by frequency, percentiles, mean and standard deviation. As for the qualitative method, data were collected by In-Depth-Interview with 15 informants and by focus group discussion with 7 participants. Data were analyzed by inductive analysis and descriptive interpretation.
Findings were divided into 3 parts as follows:
1. The general status of leadership of Administrative Monks at the Shangha Administrative Region 8 was that, 1) leadership in Cakkhuma, the clear vision in general circumstances, 2) Vidhuro, skills in handling tasks, 3) leadership in good human relations, Nissayasampanno. The leadership development according to Dhamma Sanghasopanasutra was at high level at all aspects. The leadership in intellect and capacity (Vinayato), in good discipline (Vinito), in bravery/ smartness (Visarato), and in just, law and order(Dhammanudhammapatipanno) were all at high levels.
2. As for the appropriate Buddhadhamma and Leadership theory to develop the leadership of Administrative Monks at the Sangha Affairs Administrative Region 8, the finding was that leadership development of Sangha Affairs Administrative Monks consisted of 4 theories. They were (1) leadership of characteristics, (2) leadership of behavior, (3) great event theory, (4) reformation leadership and self sufficiency leadership which the most suitable for the region.
3. As for the integration of the Buddhadhamma with the leadership theory to develop the leadership of Sangha Affairs Administrative Monks, the finding was that behavior of leaders should pay attention to members in community and promote morale and encouragement. Leaders should pay attention to the task goals, There should be objectives setting for job standard. There should be empowerment and push for success.
