ABSTRACT
This thesis is of 3 objectives as follows: 1) to study the principles of gooness in Theravãda Buddhist Scriptures 2) to study the principles that are associated with the gooness in Theravãda Buddhist Scriptures 3) to study the principles associated with the promotion of good attitudes of the Senior Monks in Thai societies.
From the research, it is found that according to the word goodness, in Theravãda Buddhist Scriptures is of the same meaning of the word. "Bunya" the great merit on the implicit nature of the properties of the human mind. Once the Buddha said that "the great merit" is the moral life of the human beings lives which are due to the pure and luminous mind. When it is said according to the results. The great merit is a happiness to get the most pleasure. In Buddhism there is a viewcommented. Actions that are considered "good or bad" must be done with a willful or intentional act of faith which is called "kusala" good action which is an action which of good faith that is the public information or the root of goodness which is of no greed, no anger, no illusion and the equitable rule of the evil actions of evil intention that includes Akusalamula the root of all evils, namely, greed, anger, delusion and the rule of fair Dhamma’s justice.
The principles that are associated with the gooness in Theravãda Buddhist Scriptures, Divided by The principles that promote the good of relations such as Puññakiriyã-vatthu Sangahavatthu Sãraņīyadhamma and Mangala etc. The principles with the promote of good governance such as Brahmavihãra Rãja-sangahavatthu Rãjadhamma and Cakkavatti-vatta etc. The principles that promote the good of Justice such as Agati etc. And the principles that promote the good of equality such as Kãlãmasutta-kankhãniyaţţhãna etc. All of the principles mentioned above that is the principles that demonstrate the behavior which is the bodily, verbal and mental goodness. The practice to do good things in Buddhism as a benefit with ourselves and the peace of society.
The analyzation of the Doctrinal principles in relationship with goodness in the view points of the 10 Thai monks who said about principles of goodness according to the Three Baskets (Tipitaka). These monks mentioned about the goodness which in different from the goodness in Three Baskets by comparing the goodness as a special friend. They compared the making of goodness as a the light of the fire. Moreover, they compared the goodness as the adornments of the good people. Besides, the monk said about the goodness as tallows:- A person who will attain Nibbãna must do bodily and mental goodness. Nibbãna is the highest target in Buddhism which is the getting away from the devilments which attach the general people’s minds. When a person attains Nibbãna, his life will be the best one. The attainment of the Dhammas up to being an Arahants is the way to highest aim, that Nibbãna.
