The objectives of this research are 1) to study the level of opinions of the people to the roles of temples in the Public Welfare, 2) to compare the level of opinions of the people the roles of temples in the Public Welfare, and 3) to suggest the guideline to the level of opinions of the people to the roles of temples in the Public Welfare. The research methodology is the Survey Research and collecting the data in the Field Study of 400 people of Bankongnoi in Ratchaburi Province. The tool employed for collecting data is the questionnaire which has 3 parts. Part 1 is the general personnel data of the people who answer the questionnaires. Part 2 is the questionnaire about the opinions of the people to the roles of temples in the Public Welfare : A Case Study of Bankongnoi, Ratchaburi Province. Part 3 is the questionnaire about the problems, obstacles and suggestions of the people to the roles of temples in the Public Welfare .The data analysis for this research are such as frequencies, percentage, standard deviation (S.D) and Person Chi-Square Tests for describing the relationship between Independent Variables or Dependent Variables.
The Findings of the study were concluded as follow :
1. The roles of temples in the Public Welfare : A Case Study of Bankongnoi, Ratchaburi Province for three sides such as Mental Development, Local Development and Culture Promotion in the general are at the middle level (Average = 3.09). When considered by topics found that the mental development side, the people have the opinions as a good level (Average = 3.51). But the sides of local development and the culture promotion found that the people have the opinions at the middle levels (Average = 2.99 and 2.76 respectively)
2. The roles of temples in the Public Welfare : A Case Study of Bankongnoi, Ratchaburi Province were classified by the general personal status like occupations, experiences of entering to the temples have the opinions to The roles of temples in the Public Welfare differently that it is statistically significant difference so the relevant hypothesis set forth could be accepted. However, for the people who have the different personal status like like sex, age, and education have the opinions to the roles of temples in the public welfare indifferently. Therefore, it is not statistically significant difference so the relevant hypothesis set forth could be rejected.
3. problems , obstacles and suggestions of the people to the roles of temples in the Public Welfare as follow The major problems of roles of temples in the Public Welfare are the problems of good plan policy and distribution of helping for three sides such as Mental Development, Local Development and Culture Promotion in the general inefficiently and not cover all areas. It lacks of activities to promote the Public Welfare to the community and no continuous programmes. It also lacks of supporting and cooperation with government and private organizations. It does not have the support from Sanghas or monks and no cooperation among monks. It also lack of the good quality human resource and inefficiency of working in the future.
Therefore, Temples and Buddhist monks in Ratchaburi province should have the authority who have the full responsibility in Public Welfare all levels. They should increase the enough and efficient staff of monks. They should improve the working efficiency and decentralize the authority to cover all areas in Ratchaburi province. They also should have the good working system and network. They should use the high potentials to work and behave well as Buddhist principles including patience, work hard for the security of Buddhism. |
