This research aims to (1) study the virtuous friendship in Buddhism, and
(2) compare the virtuous friendship of teachers according to the opinions of Mahachulalongkornrajavidalaya University students. samples are 210 Mahachulalongkornrajavidalaya University students studying at the second academic year 2010. Data of Mahachulalongkornrajavidalaya University Students, Nakhonratchasima campus are collected by the questionnaires.
The results are as follows:
1. Kulayanamittatham or Virtuous friendship in Buddhism refers to friends who
always suggest, induce, support, tell intelligent ways, and behave as a good sample. The virtuous friendship is clearly involved in the society especially those who are responsible for the society such as parents and teachers. They have to behave well as good samples. Thus, those who wish to have their life progress should apply Kulayanamittatham to the real practice for the unity and happiness of the society as a whole.
2. The virtuous friendship of teachers both from the overall and each side
according to Mahachulalongkornrajavidalaya University students are in a high level.
3. The virtuous friendship of teachers according to
Mahachulalongkornrajavidalaya University students classified by the status both from the overall and each side is not different. Laypeople students’ mean of opinions is higher than monks’.
4. The virtuous friendship of teachers from the overall classified by
student type according to Mahachulalongkornrajavidalaya University students is not different. Weekend students’ the level of opinions is higher than normal students’.
5. The virtuous friendship of teachers both from the overall and each side
classified by their academic year according to Mahachulalongkornrajavidalaya University students does not show a statistically significant difference at .05 level. The first year students’ opinion is higher than students opinions from the fourth, second, and third year.
6. The virtuous friendship of teachers from the overall according to Mahachulalongkornrajavidalaya University students classified by the faculty is not different. Opinions of students from the faculty of education are higher than those from the faculty of Buddhism, Social Science, and Humanity Science respectively. |
