WORK EFFECTIVENESS OF INSTRUCTORS IN NAKHON SAWAN PROVINCE POLICE TRAINING CENTER REGION 6

Abstract

  The objectives of this research were: 1) to study a work effectiveness of instructors in Nakhon Sawan Province police training Center Region 6,  2) to compare a work effectiveness of instructors in Nakhon Sawan Province police training Center Region 6, 3) to study problems, obstacles and provide suggestions on work effectiveness of instructors in Nakhon Sawan Province police training Center Region 6.  This study uses data from both quantitative and qualitative survey. The population used in the survey is the trainees who attend the training course at regional 6 training center. We randomly pick 302 trainees out of the total of 1233 trainees. We use a method proposed by Taro Yamane for data analysis. The method uses the following statistical measurements: Frequencies, Percentage, Mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, One Way ANOVA, least significant difference (LSD). A specially study has been done with 7 trainees who are operating in the field as the “Key Informant” and the Analysis of context-based content.

Results of the Research
1. Overall, an work effectiveness of instructors in Nakhon Sawan Province police training Center Region 6 was in the middle level ( =3.45). Considering for each aspect, documents, equipments, audiovisual aids, and qualities of instructor were in the high level. The content of training, the governing of Pol.L/C, Pol.Cpl., Pol.Sgt. and all courses’ participants were in the middle level.
2. Comparing an work effectiveness of instructors in Nakhon Sawan Province police training Center Region 6 by classifying into age, degree of education, income, rank and courses taken, the result found that participants with different age, degree of education, income, rank and courses taken had indifferent opinions on a work effectiveness of instructors in Nakhon Sawan Province police training Center Region 6 in which rejected research hypothesis.
3. Problems, obstacles, and suggestions on work effectiveness of instructors in Nakhon Sawan Province police training Center Region 6 were that instructor lacked the additional training in order to apply the new knowledge for participants. The martial art was still taught in the old style; no new one applied. Pistol shooting system was not matched with the current situation. Instructor had no related training documents; otherwise, they explained and suddenly done. Instructor’s equipments were not sufficient and under standard; for example, plastic guns were not suitable for training. Some instructor possessed the previous knowledge without further their own new one. Some were older and had a weak health which was the main obstacle in training. There were a few instructors because the salary was low and they changed to work in other field. Instructor had to work hard with a few hours of sleep. Training must be followed the patterns of the Royal Thai Police, some instructors adapted new methodologies but could not support a large amount of trainees. There was a gap between instructors and trainees in term of rank; instructors with lower rank not to be dare to order or command trainees with higher rank.
