This study aimed 1) to examine the administration of public schools in accordance with the principle of Brahmavihardhamma, 2) to compare opinions on the administration of public schools in accordance with the principle of Brahmavihardhamma, classified by personal factors, and 3) to study the problems and obstaclesand recommendations on the administration of public schools in accordance with the principle of Brahmavihardhamma. The sample used in this study consisted of 263 teachers and staff of Secondary Schools under Samutprakan Education Service Area Office 1. The tool for data collection was questionnaire with the reliability value equal to 0.973. The data were analyzed by employing statistical techniques such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and one-way analysis of variance.
The findings of this study are concluded as follows :
The overall opinions of respondents on the administration of public schools in accordance with the principle of Brahmavihardhamma were found at the high level. When having considered in each aspect, it was also noted at the high levels in all aspects.
With regard to the comparison of the respondents’ opinions on the administration of public schools in accordance with the principle of Brahmavihardhamma, classified by personal factors, it was found that sex, age, level of education, working positions and working experiences have no significant differences even at 0.05 level of significance, therefore rejecting the formulated hypotheses.
Problems relating to the administration of public schools in accordance with the principle of Brahmavihardhamma of Secondary Schools under Samutprakan Education Service Area 1 revealed that school administrators have less loving-kindness and good wishes to the teachers and staffs, sometimes they exercised their power beyond the scope of jurisdiction, their actions were based on emotion rather than reasons, the welfare of the teachers, staffs and personnel was implemented from time to time not regularly, offender had no chance to clarify his/her allegation, resulting in lack of morale and motive to work, supporting teachers and staff personnel to increase their knowledge and skills was rarely practiced not equally and sufficiently, sometimes they did not get any appreciation from their good conducts, they were treated unequally, and there was lack of rules and regulations orientation in a proper way.
The suggestions for the administration of public schools in accordance with the principle of Brahmavihardhamma of Secondary Schools under Samutprakan Education Service Area 1 showed that school administrators should show loving-kindness and best wishes to all teachers and member staffs, they should powers in limited scope and the order must be based on reason rather than emotion, the welfare of the teachers, staff, and should appeal to more people, the opportunity to clarify when the alleged should be allowed, administrators should promote And motivate to teachers, staff to increase and upgrade their knowledge and skills, there is encouragement to do good at every opportunity, they should be treated equally and fairly, and rules and regulations should be clear and understandable by all in schools.
