The objectives of this study were: 1) to study the working efficiency of the probation volunteers in Nakhon Sawan Province, 2) to study the factors influencing the working efficiency of the probation volunteers in Nakhon Sawan Province, and 3) to study the ways for the development of the working efficiency of the probation volunteers in Nakhon Sawan Province. This research applied the Mixed Research consisting of the qualitative and quantitative research. The sample was 122 probation volunteers in Nakhon Sawan Province. The tools of the research were questionnaire and in-Depth interview. The analysis of data used Statistical Package for Social Science. The statistics for analysis data used Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Pearson's Product Correlation Coefficient, and Chi-Square.
Results of the Research
1) Overall, the factors influencing the working efficiency of the probation volunteers in Nakhon Sawan Province was at the high level (µ = 3.79). When considering each aspect, it was found that the inspection, the helping, the controlling, the report writing was at the high level.
2) The relationship of the personal factors and the working efficiency of the probation volunteers in Nakhon Sawan Province: sex, age, married status, degree of education, occupation, income and duration of working was found that: the personal factors of the probation volunteers had no the relationship with the working efficiency of the probation volunteers in Nakhon Sawan Province. Therefore, the hypothesis was denied.
However, the relationship of the factors and the working efficiency of the probation volunteers in Nakhon Sawan Province was found that the factors had the relationship with the working efficiency of the probation volunteers in Nakhon Sawan Province at 0.01 of statistical significance. The factors concerning the working in the training and the assignation had the relationship with the working efficiency of the probation volunteers for the report writing at 0.05 of statistical significance.
3) The problems, obstacles and suggestion for the factors influencing the working efficiency of the probation volunteers in Nakhon Sawan Province were: the working of the probation volunteers had the problems in the unclear map of the probationers. The probation volunteers had no enough and did not control every area. Therefore, the travelling for the indictment paid a lot of expenses. Moreover, the probation volunteers had a lack of the knowledge and the understanding in the support. Occasionally, the probationers did not attend the instruction of the probation volunteers. Therefore, the Probation Office should send the cases that were close to the home of the probation volunteers to be comfortable in the inspection, bring the Community Justice Network for the training to be the probation volunteers, and have the training to give the knowledge in the working of the probation volunteers. Moreover, the Nakhon Sawan Probation Office should select the probation volunteers that had the public mind for the working, the probation officers should evaluate the working of the probation volunteers after the probation volunteers sent the report to know the fault for the working improvement.
