The objectives of this research were to study and compare the participation of school board, and to study the guidelines in enhancing the participation of school board in curriculum development of basic education school, under the Office of Mahasarakham Primary Educational Service Area 2. The samples were 118 presidents of school board, 118 school administrators, and 118 teacher representatives, total of 354 persons. The instruments used in this study were the 5 level rating scales with reliability coefficient of total issue as 0.95. The statistic used for data analysis included the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test (Independent samples) and F-test (One way ANOVA)
The research findings are:
1. For data analysis of overall participation in curriculum development of basic school,under the Office of Mahasarakham Primary Educational Service Area 2, it was at high level on the aspects and the wholes. The highest order was the determination of vision, mission, and objective, the second order was the design of student development activity and the lowest order was the establishment of curriculum matter.
2. For comparison on participation of school boards in curriculum development in basic education school, the Office of Mahasarakham Primary Educational Service Area 2 as classified by size of school were not different on the whole. When consided by aspect found that the establishment of school curriculum structure was significantly different at .01 level, the others were not different.
3. For comparison on participation of school board in participation in developing the school curriculum in basic school, under the Office of Mahasarakham Primary Educational Service Area 2, as classified by status were not different on the aspects and the wholes.
4. For analysis of the guidelines to developing the school board’s participation in
school curriculum development in basic school, under the office of Mahasarakham Primary Educational Service Area 2 were : the school ought to let the school board participate in establishment of curriculum material, development of support system, establishment of school curriculum, establishment of school curriculum structure, setting learning design, determination of vision, mission, and objective, and design of student development activity.
