The research titled “An Application of Trai Sikkha for Student Development of Wat Tamnaktai School (Vilasosathanonnukro) in Muang District, Nonthaburi Province” aims : i) to study the Tri-Sikkha Principles in Buddhism; ii) to study an Application of Sikkha III for Student Development of Wat Tamnaktai School (Vilas Osathanonnukro) in Muang District, Nonthaburi Province; and iii) to study problems, obstacles and suggestions in an Application of Sikkha III for Student Development of Wat Tamnaktai School (Vilasosathanonnukro) in Muang District, Nonthaburi Province. The research is conducted by Survey Research. The data collection is conducted by questionnaire with the prospected population: the 250 students of Wat Tamnaktai School (Vilasosathanonnukro). The gathered data were analyzed by using statistical techniques such as Frequencies, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation to describe data of personal status.
The findings of the study are as follows:
1) An Application of Trai Sikkha for Student Development of Wat Tamnaktai School (Vilas Osathanonnukro) in Muang District, Nonthaburi Province was totally found at very good level 4.22 Considered into each aspect, it was noticed that the students’ opinions concerning in an Application of Tri-Sikkha Principles for Developing Students were found in very good level 4.35 for Sila aspect, also 4.21 for Samadhi and good 4.10 for Panna respectively.
2) Problems and suggestions in an Application of Sikkha III for Student Development of Wat Tamnaktai School (Vilas Osathanonnukro) in Muang District, Nonthaburi Province, are as follows:
For Sila aspect, it is lack of cooperation between schools to solve students’ problems. The school has no campaign to reduce causes of ruin, i.e., drinking, etc. The suggestions are: there should be cooperation between school and other agencies in order to solve students’ problems and also to create network in developing wisdom for students; and also there should have campaign to reduce causes of ruin, i.e., drinking, etc., especially the leader of school.
For Samadhi aspect, the school has trained student to be of strong mind in developing work for reaching the gold in low number. On the one hand, students were not trained in sitting meditation continuously. Here, the suggestions are that the student should get train to be of strong mind and also in sitting meditation continuously with proper time.
For Panna aspect, the school is lack of knowledge resulting from education and practice from learned monks or novices, also the application of Dhamma including philosophy in daily life. The suggestions are: the school should be properly trained by the learned monks or novices; the school should invite the learned monks or novices to teach Dhamma in school in order to apply it in daily life and also to stimulate student enable to solve problems by themselves.
