The research entitled “The Roles of Bangpoon Sub-District Municipality towards Environmental Problem Management of Community in Muang District, Pathumthani Province” is a quantitative Research consisting of three main objectives, namely, i) to compare people’s opinions towards the roles of Bangpoon Sub-District Municipality towards environmental problem management of community in Muang District, Pathumthani Province, classified by personal factors; and iii) to study problems, obstacles and suggestions in the roles of Bangpoon Sub-District Municipality towards environmental problem management of community in Muang District, Pathumthani Province. The survey research was employed in this study. The samples used in this study consisted of 317 people living Bangpoon Sub-District Municipality, Pathumthani Province, being drawn by random sampling techniques. The tool used for data collection was questionnaire with reliability value equal to 0.918. The statistical techniques used for this research are frequency, mean, and standard deviation. Inferential statistics of t-test and F-test were used to determine the differences in mean scores of both groups, and One-way ANOVA was used to determine the mean scores among three groups or more. Finally, the Least Significance Difference (LSD) was employed to test the differences between means of each pair.
The findings of the study are concluded as follows:
1) The overall roles of Bangpoon Sub-District Municipality towards environmental problem management of community in Muang District, Pathumthani Province, had been found in good level (4.07). Considering in details of each aspect, all were noted in good levels as well.
2) With regard to comparison of people’s opinions towards the roles of Bangpoon Sub-District Municipality towards environmental problem management of community in Muang District, Pathumthani Province, classified by personal factors, it has been found that gender, age, occupation and years of living had no significant differences. Meanwhile, level of education was noted significant difference at the 0.05 level of confidence.
3) Suggestions of this study reveal that: 1) Bangpoon Sub-District Municipality should care of people’s need in environmental management of the community, 2) The people should be able to take part in environmental Management of the community to check the administrative system of Sub-District Sub-District Municipality, 3) People of community should able to participate in the administrative system of Bangpoon Sub-District Municipality continuously for benefits of environment and life quality of people in Bangpoon community.
