Abstract

 The research entitled  The Roles of Sangha towards Preservation of Mon Tradition in Phrapradaeng District, Samutprakarn Province is a quantitative Research consisting of three main objectives, namely, i) to study the Roles of Sangha towards Preservation of Mon Tradition in Phrapradaeng District, Samutprakarn Province; ii) to comparative study people’s opinions in the Roles of Sangha towards Preservation of Mon Tradition in Phrapradaeng District, Samutprakarn Province classified by personal factors; and iii) to study guidelines and suggestions in the Roles of Sangha towards Preservation of Mon Tradition in Phrapradaeng District, Samutprakarn Province. It is the Survey Research of which data collection has been used by questionnaires for the sampling group of 317 people in Banterngtamok, Bangyapraek Sub-District, Phrapradeng District, Samutprakarn Province. The gathered data were analyzed by using statistical techniques for sociological methodology such as Frequencies, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation, t-test, F-Test (One Way Analysis of Variance), also Least Significant Difference (LSD) with statistical significance at 0.05 level.

The findings of the study are concluded as follows: 
1) The Roles of Sangha towards Preservation of Mon Tradition in Phrapradaeng District, Samutprakarn Province had been found in good level 4.18. Considering in details of each aspect, all were in good level, too.
2) Classified by gender, age, status, level of education, occupation and income on the Roles of Sangha towards Preservation of Mon Tradition in Phrapradaeng District, Samutprakarn Province, had no differences.
3) Suggestions: 1) not only monks, also all members of community should work together for preservation of Mon language and passing it to new generation through arranging activities, 2) there should be activities for all members of community once a week or month, 3) it would be better for trying to get fund from several agencies to support activities of community.
