The study consisted of three main objectives, The present study consisted of three main objectives, namely, 1) to study child development in accordance with Bhavana IV : A Case Study of Training Center for Children under compulsory school in Thungkru District, Bangkok; 2) to compare child development in accordance with Bhavana IV : A Case Study of Training Center for Children under compulsory school in Thungkru District, Bangkok, classified by personal factors; and 3) to study problems, suggestions and guidelines for an improvement of child development in accordance with Bhavana IV : A Case Study of Training Center for Children under compulsory school in Thungkru District, Bangkok.
The Survey research was employed in this study. The sample used in this study consisted of 130 guardians of pupils of Training Center for Children under compulsory school in Thungkru District, Bangkok, drawn by random sampling technique. The tool used for data collection was questionnaire. The gathered data were analyzed by using statistical techniques such as frequencies, percentage, mean and standard deviation. To test the hypotheses, t-test and F-Test (One Way Analysis of Variance) were employed. A mean difference of the pair was conducted by a Least Significant Different (LSD).
The findings of this study are concluded as follows :
The overall opinions of respondents relating to child development in accordance with Bhavana IV : A Case Study of Training Center for Children under compulsory school in Thungkru District, Bangkok, were found at the high level. When considered into each aspect, it was noticed at the highest level in morality aspect (Sila Bhavana) and the high levels in the rest aspects.
To compare opinions of guardians relating to the child development in accordance with Bhavana IV : A Case Study of Training Center for Children under compulsory school in Thungkru District, Bangkok, classified by personal factors, it was found that gender, age, status, level of education, occupation and monthly income have significant differences at .01 level of confidence, thus accepting formulated hypotheses.
Recommendations for improvement of child development in accordance with Bhavana IV : A Case Study of Training Center for Children under compulsory school in Thungkru District, Bangkok, revealed that:
1. For Kayabhavana, Training Center for Children under compulsory school should organize training and rules and regulations in supporting pupils’ health by cooperation from temple and other agencies for the sake of their health and strength.
2. For Silabhavana, Training Center for Children under compulsory school with cooperation of religious agencies should support ethical values and cultivate and observe precepts as foundations of pupils.
3. For Cittabhavana, Training Center for Children under compulsory school should give opportunities to pupils’ guardians to take part in activities of mind development or allow other agencies to participate in the activities.
4. For Pannabhavana, religious agencies or temple should have policies to enhance pupils’ wisdom regularly by continuously examining knowledge in Buddhism.
