This thesis is the study of the attitudes towards worshipping the monks and chanting the Mandras (the Sacred Words) by the students at Nakornnonwittaya 4 (Wat Bangphreak Naue) School, Sounyai Sub-district, Muang District, Nontaburi Province. It is of 3 objectives, namely:-1.To study the attitude towards worshipping the monks and chanting the Mantras (The Sacred Words) by the students, 2.To comparatively study the differences at the level of the students’ attitudes and the relationship among the viewpoints towards worshipping the monks and chanting on different sides by the students classifield according to the sexes, the ages, the educational levels, the states of living in the present families and the parents’ occupations, 3.To study the advices given by the students about worshipping the monks and chanting the mantras. The researcher has carried out the research work by researching from the exemplary groups of the students from the first to the third school classes at Nakornnonwittaya 4 (Wat Bangphreak Naue) School, Sounyai Sub-district, Muang District, Nontaburi Province. The numbers of the students are 325. After counting according to the principle or form the exemplary groups of 180 persons are obtained. An analysis of the data was carried out by finding out the valve of frequency, the percentage, the average, the standard deviation, the t.test, the one way annova and the comparison of the average differences doubly with LSD (Least Square Difference Method). From the research, it is found that:- 1. The levels of the attitudes towards worshipping the monks and chanting the Mantras are generally at the high levels of ( = 3.84). When it is considered side by side, it is found that by sides, it is found that the students at Nakornnonwittaya 4 (Wat Bangphreak Naue) School, Sounyai Sub-district, Muang District, Nontaburi Province, are of very good attitudes on every side towards worshipping the monks and chanting the Mantras. They are:- (1).The mental energy in worshipping the monks and in chanting Mantras. (2).The bodily benefits. (3).The social benefits. (4).The mental benefits. (5).The benefit in knowing how to think and in wisdom. 2. The students of different sexes are of not different viewpoints on every side. Furthermore, from the comparative study of the viewpoint towards worshipping the monks and chanting the Mantra from the exemplary groups, it is found that The students of different ages, educational levels, states of living and occupations, and parents are generally of different viewpoints about worshipping the monks and chanting the mantras on 3 sides, namely :- (1) The social benefits. (2) The bodily benefits. (3) The mental benefits and the wisdom benefit with the important statistical point at the level of 0.05. 3. Most of the students’ suggestions are in connection with the belief in worshipping the monks and chanting the Mantras in Buddhism as that after practicing, the practice cause the minds to be bright, clear and wise. Thus the fact help the students to have the daily practices in worshipping the monks, chanting the Mantras in their daily lives and practicing meditation at the time before going to bed. |
