ABSTRACT
The objectives of this thesis are: to study the concept and theory of the role of the Sangha regarding public aids in the society, to study the process of public aids performed by the Sangha Community in Amphoe Chaturaphak Phiman, Roi-et Province, and to study the result of public aids implemented by the Sangha Community in Amphoe Chaturaphak Phiman, Roi-et Province, in developing the society. However, this thesis is conducted based on qualitative research methodology, documentary research, field work approaches, and critical analysis.
The result of the study found that the Sangha had played very important role in Buddhist ethical training to the people in the areas. They also donated to reconstructed social welfare, and even build Pariyatidhamma School as the educational institute and resident places for an orphan. Furthermore, they were very faithful of the people as they concerned about the current problems in the society and helped to solve the crisis; on one hand, they were the spiritual leaders in the community.
Another considered preferment of public aids conducted by the the Sangha Community in Amphoe Chaturaphak Phiman, Roi-et Province, was: they ready to allow the people to utilize the temple for useful activities both private organization and government. Moreover, they used the temple as a relief place for the victim from natural disaster, and donated all necessary requisites they had to the victim to live in comfort.
Last but not least, this study found that the result of public aids implemented by the Sangha Community in Amphoe Chaturaphak Phiman, Roi-et Province, in developing the society was very effective and beneficial to the society. It was a real form of public aids in which free of any profit but benefited to all. Not only concerned about the Sangha administrative works, the Sangha Community in Amphoe Chaturaphak Phiman, Roi-et Province, also sought to lead the society to prosperity. |
