ABSTRACT
The main objectives of this thesis were: to study the concept of learning management on the subject of Buddhism according to the Basic Education Core Curriculum in 2001 and that of 2008, to study Buddhist principles and Buddhist virtue training camp at Ban Lak Roi School, Mueng district, Nakhonratchasima province, and to study a result of organizing activities on Buddhist virtue training camp at Ban Lak Roi School, Mueang district, Nakhonratchasima province. However, this thesis is conducted based on qualitative research methodology, documentary research, field work approaches, and critical analysis.
The result of the study found that a concept of learning management on the subject of Buddhism according to the Basic Education Core Curriculum in 2001 and that of 2008 was formulated for a learner to be healthy, good and responsible citizens, endowed with knowledge, skills, morality and desirable values.
For the Buddhist principles that were implemented in organizing Buddhist virtue training camp at Ban Lak Roi School, Maung District, Nakhonratchasima Province were fundamental principle of Buddhist teachings: five precepts (pabcasila) and five ennobling virtues (pabcadhamma). The training begun by organizing an activity that corresponding to creating love depended upon oneself and fellow beings. In other world, it was not transgressing the five precepts. Moreover, the school also implemented the Ten Meritorious Actions (dasakusalakamma) and the Noble Eightfold Path (atthavgika-magga) as the further Buddhist principles in organizing the Buddhist virtue training camp.
Nevertheless, this study found that a result of organizing Buddhist training camp at Ban Lak Roi School was very useful and helpful to a student. From critical observing, a student had better characteristic, being gentle, smileful, being active, and spoke with a derisible speech. Moreover, a student tended to became more being aware of his or her actions, being punctual, and adjusted themselves with others in very positive mode. A student also tended to love an animal and a poor, knew a benefit of food and donation from others. A student attained the activity with certain goals became more reasonable and knew the importance of studies. |
