Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

                The purposes of this research are to study the primary education students’ opinion towards the educational management of the subject of social studies, to compare the students’ opinion towards the educational management of the subject of social studies, and to study the problems, obstacles  and suggestions of the way of educational management of the subject of social studies. The sampling group  was 297 students studying in Ratwinit school, Dusit District, Bangoko, from the 4th to 6th year of primary education classes. The way used for sampling was the Sample Random Sampling. The instrument used for the research was the questionnaire. The statistics used for analyzing the data was percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-test and F-test with One Way Analysis of ANOVA

 

The result of the research has been found that:

1.The primary education students’ opinion of the educational management of the subject of social studies in Ratwinit School, Dusit District, Bangkok, as a whole, was at the high level. In considering as the aspects, it has been found that it was at the high level in all aspects. The arrangement of the level from high to low would be the order as curriculum, learning and teaching, measurement and assessment, conditions of learning and teaching and educational media, respectively

2.      In comparing the primary education students’ opinions of the educational management of      the subject of social studies in Ratwinit School, Dusit District, Bangkok, it has been found that for the students whose gender age and class were different, their opinion of management of learning and teaching the subject “Social Studies” would be different with statistical significance at the level 0.01. For the students whose average grades were different, their opinion of management of learning and teaching the subject “Social Studies” would not be different with statistical significance at the level 0.05

                                          3. The results of studying the problems, obstacles and suggestions of the way of managing the learning and teaching the subject “social studies”  of the primary education students studying in Ratwinit school, Dusit District, Bangko, in 5 aspects, were 1) in the aspect of curriculum, its problems and obstacles were that the teachers were not cleared  in the structure of curriculum, learning and the content of curriculum were not suitable for the present time. For the suggestions, the teachers should improve the method of teaching in coincidence with curriculum and learning contents more and more in order to be suitable for students and always up to date. 2) in the aspect of learning and teaching, the problem and obstacle were that  the teachers gave too much emphasis on the theoretical learning and teaching in the class, For the suggestion, the teachers should pay attention on both theory and practice, 3) in the aspect of educational media, its problem and obstacle were to be out of date and not in coincidence with current incident, the suggestion for it was that the teachers should improve the educational media to be in coincidence, suitable and always be modern, 4) for the conditionsof learning and teaching, its problem and obstacle were that the learning source  within the school was too less and not enough for students’ requirement, the suggestion of it was to increase the learning sources within the school to make them enough for the students’ requirement, and 5) in the aspect of measurement and assessment, Their problem and obstacle were to have no time for students to do post-test after learning, the suggestion for it was that the suitabl time should be managed by the teachers
