ABSTRACT

          The objectives of this research “Role of Buddhist Monks toward Moral Development of Youth in Nakhonpathom Province” are: 1) to study the Role of Buddhist Monks toward Moral Development of Youth in Nakhonpathom Province, 2) to compare the Role of Buddhist Monks toward Moral Development of Youth in Nakhonpathom Province, and 3) to study problems, obstacles and suggestions relating to the Role of Buddhist Monks toward Moral Development of Youth in Nakhonpathom Province. This study is mixed research, collected the data from the sample that are the primary students of education service area Zone 1 and Zone 2 of Nakhonpathom Province, the population 346 were quested. Research instruments were questionnaires, analyzed the data with frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation (S.D.), hypothesis tested with t – test for two – valued variables and F – test or One – Way ANOVA for more than 3 valued variables. In case of differentiation was found, it was compared by LSD. Qualitative research was collected the data by in-depth interview.

The results of research are found that ;

           1.  The overall study Role of Buddhist Monks toward Moral Development of Youth in Nakhonpathom Province were found at the high level ( = 5.35). Having considered by each items, it was also rated at the high levels in all items.

           2. The comparison study Role of Buddhist Monks toward Moral Development of Youth in Nakhonpathom Province, hypothesis tested by analyzing different variables found that gender, age, education level, occupation guardian and school-record level a role in the Buddhist monks and morality push had no different opinion, then denying hypothesis location research keep.

          3. The problems and suggestions of the study the Role of Buddhist Monks toward Moral Development of Youth in Nakhonpathom Province, it was found that a student skips class often and neglect in the study. The trend in the remedy for example should stand set of regulations in punishing student hard in about skip class, and encourage a student who have diligence studies by have the asset study good, and the asset for person is diligent but loss assets in the learning.

          4. Interview results ,Role of Buddhist Monks toward Moral Development of youth in Nakhonpathom Province, Conclusively, teachers, parents and monks need to give well teach and train to the students start from self-discipline, ethically self behavior and avoid keeping your students belief strictly under formally theories or academically methods and allow them to start doing by themselves or organize an opportunity to display their works to encourage their self-competitive system which is encourage them to behave in good manners. Besides parents and teachers also teenagers are able to be disciplined by dharma this could gradually change them from misbehaver ,irresponsible people to be a responsible awake conscious during teenagers and visible the real image of happiness , sorrow , fate included of sin from violation and to change their attitude about meeting and conversation with monks is a gratefully happens then turn back living daily life happily and joyfully, therefore every departments have to move on in dharma form harmoniously and do not push away responsibility to someone , so everything will be achieved eventually.

          5. Suggestions, Role of Buddhist Monks toward Moral Development of youth in Nakhonpathom Province. They should organize general dharma training course and show the results to the students for truly understanding.
