ABSTRACT
The study entitled ‘A Study of the Opinion of Students Secondary Students on the Role of Buddhist Monks Teaching Morality in Schools under the Office of Bangkok Educational Area 1’ was a survey research. It aimed to study the Students Secondary students’ Opinion on the role of Buddhist monks teaching Buddhism in the schools under the Office of Bangkok Educational Area 1 and to compare the Students Secondary students’ Opinion on the role of Buddhist monks teaching Buddhism in the schools under the Office of Bangkok Educational Area 1 classified according to sex, age and class levels. The sample of the study comprised of Students Secondary students in Schools under the Office of Bangkok Educational Area 1 employing a Simple Random sampling method designed according to the sample-sized table of Taro Yamane to get 302 students as the sample of the study. Statistics used for the data analysis was Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation, t-test and One-Way Analysis of Variance: F-test based on the ready-made computer programme. The results of the study were as follows:
FINDINGS:
1. The result of the data analysis of the Students Secondary students’ Opinion on the role of Buddhist monks teaching Buddhism in the schools under the Office of Bangkok Educational Area 1 to find out X and S.D. values it was generally found to be more, while individually considering it was found to be more in all aspects, namely, the aspects of the instructional media, evaluation, and instructional technique and methods respectively.
2. The result of the comparative analysis of the Students Secondary students’ Opinion on the role of Buddhist monks teaching Buddhism in the schools under the Office of Bangkok Educational Area 1 classified according to sex through t-test it was generally found not to be significantly different at .05 level and while individually considering each aspect it was also found not to be significantly different at .05 level.
3. The result of the comparative analysis of the Students Secondary students’ Opinion on the role of Buddhist monks teaching Buddhism in the schools under the Office of Bangkok Educational Area 1 classified according to age and class levels through the One-Way Analysis of Variance: ANOVA was as follows:
3.1 To the age it was generally found that it was not significantly different at .05 level, while individually considering it was found to be significantly different at .05 level.
3.2 To class levels it was generally found not to be significantly different at .05 level, while individually considering it was found to be significantly different at .05 level. |
