ABSTRACT
The study entitled ‘The Opinion of Pupils upon the Role of Buddhist Monks in the Encouragement of Virtue and Ethics of the Primary Pupils under the Office of Pathum Thani Primary Education Area 2’ was a survey research to study the role of Buddhist monks in the encouragement of Virtue and Ethics of primary pupils under the Office of Pathum Thani Primary Education Area 2, to study the Opinion of pupils upon the role of Buddhist monks in the encouragement of Virtue and Ethics of the primary pupils under the Office of Pathum Thani Primary Education Area 2 and to compare the Opinion of pupils upon the role of Buddhist monks in the encouragement of Virtue and Ethics of the primary pupils under the Office of Pathum Thani Primary Education Area 2 classified according to the pupils’ status. The primary pupils of Wat Don Yai and Samuharatbamrung schools studying in the second semester of the Year 2010 were the sample on the study. An Accidental Sampling method based on the table of a sampling design of Ymane was used to get 316 pupils as the sample with 95 % of the reliable level. Statistics used for the data analysis was Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation, t-test and One-Way Analysis of Variance: F-test based on the ready-made computer programme.
The results of the study were as follows:
1. The result of the data analysis of the Opinion of pupils upon the role of Buddhist monks in the encouragement of Virtue and Ethics of Primary pupils under the Office of Pathum Thani Education Area 2 to find out X and S.D. values in general in all the aspects it was found to be high in 4 aspects and moderate in 2 aspects. The former aspects were the aspect of being mindfulness and social recall and the later aspects were the aspects of cultivating, spiritual leader, Virtue encouragement and Ethical example respectively.
2. The result of the comparative analysis of the Opinion of pupils upon the role of Buddhist monks in the encouragement of Virtue and Ethics of Primary pupils under the Office of Pathum Thani Education Area 2 classified according to sex and Educational institutes through t-test was as follows:
1) To the sex it was generally found that it was not significantly different at 0.05 level which was not associated with the given hypothesis, while considering each aspect it was found not to be significantly different at 0.05 level.
2) To the educational institute it was generally found that it was not significantly different at 0.05 level which was not associated with the given hypothesis, while considering each aspect it was found not to be significantly different at 0.05 level.
3. The result of the comparative analysis of the Opinion of pupils upon the role of Buddhist monks in the encouragement of Virtue and Ethics of Primary pupils under the Office of Pathum Thani Education Area 2 classified according to age and class levels through the One-Way Analysis of Variance: ANOVA was as follows:
1) To the age it was generally found that it was not significantly different at 0.05 level which was not associated with the given hypothesis, while considering each aspect it was found that the aspect of mindfulness was significantly different at 0.05 level.
2) To the class it was generally found that it was not significantly different at 0.05 level which was not associated with the given hypothesis, while considering each aspect it was found to be significantly different at 0.05 level. |
