ABSTRACT
The Study entitled ‘The Roles of Sangha in Buddhist Subjects Learning and Teaching
Management at SamutPrakarn Elementary Education Area Office 2 ’ was aiming to study the roles of Buddhist monks in the Management of Buddhist Subject teaching in the Office of SamutPrakarn Education Area 2 and to study the opinion and suggestions on the management of Buddhist Subject teaching in the Office of SamutPrakarn Education Area 2. This study was a survey research in nature. The sample of the study was divided into two groups: 6 schools under the Office of SamutPrakarn Education Area 2 and 152 respondents including teachers, Buddhist monks who were teaching Buddhism in Wat Buaroi School under the Office of SamutPrakarn Education Area 2. The tool of data collection was a questionnaire with the reliable rate of 0.971. Statistics used for the data analysis was Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test, One-Way Analysis of Variance: F-test and Least Significant.Difference:.LSD based on the ready-made computer programme. The findings of the study were as follows:
1. The most respondents are laypersons which are 144 with 94.7 %. Out of these 102 respondents are female with 67.1 %. The most 62 respondents are 51-60 years old that are 40.8 %. The most respondents with a Bachelor degree are 112 persons which are 73.7 % out of all. The majority of them has 6-10 years of experience in teaching the Buddhism that are 54 persons with 35.5 %. Based on the present position out of all the respondents 142 ones are teachers the percentage of which is 93.4.
2. Regarding to the opinion of respondents on the roles of Buddhist monks in the management of the Buddhism in the study area it is found that it is more with the average value of 3.74. While considering each aspect it is found that the respondents’ opinion was more in all the aspects.
3. Suggestions on the roles of Buddhist monks in the management of a Buddhist Subject teaching in the Office of SamutPrakarn Education Area 2 are as follows:
1) In the aspect of the Buddhist Course development a special attention should be paid to the teaching of virtue, ethics, being good as the children, students, citizen and Buddhists and the content of Buddhism and the Buddha’s life.
2) In the aspect of the teaching process of the Buddhist Course it should be taught in association with students’ aptitude, capacity and perception to enjoy and please the student in learning.
3) In the aspect of the instructional media preparation for the Buddhist Course a new technology like the computer and reality show should be used to encourage students to do understanding the content because students are different in learning like four kinds of the lotus.
4) In the aspect of the Course supplement the every week Dhamma class should be held to improve their mind that they could be brought up in terms of the good social member not to create any troubles to themselves and others.
5) In the aspect of the evaluation of the Buddhist Course the opportunity to take part in the preparation of any question papers should be given to Buddhist monks who know and understand the Buddhism more than teachers.
