ABSTRACT
The main objectives of the study entitled “A Study of Ethical Behavior of Secondary Students of Triam Udomsuksa Phatthanakan School in Nonthaburi Province” were: i) to study ethical behavior of secondary students of Triam Udomsuksa Phatthanakan School in Nonthaburi Province, ii) to compare ethical behavior of secondary students of Triam Udomsuksa Phatthanakan School in Nonthaburi Province, classified by sex, level of education and guardian’s occupation, and iii) to study problems, obstacles and suggestions relating to ethical behavior of secondary students of Triam Udomsuksa Phatthanakan School in Nonthaburi Province. Survey research was carried out in this study. Sample of this study consisted of 345 students studying in ninth and tenth grades of Triam Udomsuksa Phatthanakan School, Nonthaburi Province, being drawn from 3,521 universe students in academic year 2010 by stratified sampling technique. The statistics used in this research were Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, T- test and the One-Way Analysis of Variance.
The results of the research were concluded as follows :
1.The overall ethical behavior of secondary students of Triam Udomsuksa Phatthanakan School in Nonthaburi Province was rated at average level. But when taken into consideration in each aspect, it was found at the highest level in two aspects i.e. responsibility and social sacrifice, whereas four aspects, namely, gratefulness and repays, honesty, discipline, and diligence, were noticed at average levels.
2. The result of comparison of ethical behavior of secondary students of Triam Udomsuksa Phatthanakan School in Nonthaburi Province, classified by sex, level of education and guardian’s occupation showed no significant differences even at .05 level, thus rejecting the formulated hypotheses.
With regard to the suggestions relating to ethical behavior of secondary students of Triam Udomsuksa Phatthanakan School in Nonthaburi Province, the study indicated that: i) teachers should understand the students’ ages by giving the justification for any punishment in order to make them obey and bring into practice, ii) teachers should make flexible datelines for submission of students’ assignments, iii) students should be encouraged to face and accept their own mistakes, iv) to help others and social sacrifice were mostly praised by all students, v) most of students followed the guidelines suggested by their fathers, mothers and teachers and ready to repay to them, and vi) to be earnest to do assigned duties as soon as possible they can was the top priority of students. |
