Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to study level of Buddhist Leadership of The Area Administrative Leaders in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhonsawan Pravince, 2) to compare the Buddhist leadership of the Area Administrative leaders in Phayuhakhiri District, Nakhonsawan Province, and 3) to study problems, barriers and ways for development of the Buddhist leadership of the Area Administrative leaders in Phayuhakhiri District, Nakhonsawan Province.

Research methodology was quantitative, collecting data from 191 samples the Area Administrative leaders in Phayuhakhiri District, Nakhonsawan Province. The instrument of the study was the questionnaires with 0.960 of reliability. The analysis of data used Statistical Package for Social Science. The statistics used Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard deviation, t-test, and F-test by One Way ANOVA.

Findings:

Overall, the Area Administrative leaders had the opinion toward the Buddhist leadership in Phayuhakhiri District, Nakhonsawan Province in high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that the Area Administrative leaders had the opinion toward the Buddhist leadership in Phayuhakhiri District, Nakhonsawan Province in high level for all aspects.

For the compare the Buddhist leadership of the Area Administrative leaders in Phayuhakhiri District, Nakhonsawan Province by classifying on the personal factors, it was found that the Area  Administrative leaders having the different sex and position had the different levels of the Buddhist leadership at 0.05 of statistical significance. The hypothesis was accepted. However, the Area Administrative leaders having the different age, educational degree and income had no different levels of the Buddhist leadership. The hypothesis was denied.

The problems, barriers and suggestions for the Buddhist leadership of the Area Administrative leaders in Phayuhakhiri District, Nakhonsawan Province were that most of the Area Administrative leaders did not know the causes of problems in the community, the working of the Area Administrative leaders did not have the obvious goals and  think of the results, some of the Area Administrative leaders adhered to the old Administrative, and  the Area Administrative leaders did not consider their duties but were irresponsible to the others. The Area Administrative leaders adhered to the working time. Moreover, some of the Area Administrative leaders knew the community and the problems well, but they did not find the ways for problem solving. Therefore, the community was not developed well, and the community had the youth problems.
