Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to study the roles of sub-district administrative organizations on the promotion of living according to  the sufficiency economy philosophy: a case study of San sub-district administrative organization, Wiang-sa District, Nan Province, 2) to compare the people’s opinion toward the roles of sub-district administrative organizations on the promotion of living according to  the sufficiency economy philosophy: a case study of San sub-district administrative organization, Wiang-sa District, Nan Province, and 3) to study problems, barriers and suggestions for the roles of sub-district administrative organizations on the promotion of living according to  the sufficiency economy philosophy: a case study of San sub-district administrative organization, Wiang-sa District, Nan Province.

This research applied Survey Research. The sample of the study was 359 people in San sub-district administrative organization, Wiang-sa District, Nan Province.  The instrument of the study was the questionnaires with 0.965 of reliability. The analysis of data used Statistical Package for Social Science. The statistics used Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard deviation, t-test, and F-test by One Way ANOVA and Least Significant Difference: LSD at 0.05 of statistical significance.

Results of the study

1. Overall, the roles of sub-district administrative organizations on the promotion of living according to the sufficiency economy philosophy: a case study of San sub-district administrative organization, Wiang-sa District, Nan Province was in high level. When considering each aspect: moderation, reasonableness, self-immunity, knowledge, and ethics, it was found that these were in high level for all aspects.

2. For the comparison of the people’s opinion the roles of sub-district administrative organizations on the promotion of living according to the sufficiency economy philosophy: a case study of San sub-district administrative organization, Wiang-sa District, Nan Province by classifying the personal factors, it was found that the people had no different opinion toward the roles of sub-district administrative organizations on the promotion of living according to the sufficiency economy philosophy: a case study of San sub-district administrative organization, Wiang-sa District, Nan Province.

3. For the problems, barriers, and suggestions for the roles of sub-district administrative organizations on the promotion of living according to the sufficiency economy philosophy: a case study of San sub-district administrative organization, Wiang-sa District, Nan Province, it was found that the people had no enough knowledge and the understanding in  the sufficiency economy philosophy. The groups in each community had no equal strength, did not follow up. Moreover, the groups had no budget.  The San sub-district administrative organization should set the policy plan for the promotion of living and the sufficiency economy in accordance with the district development plan, the  provincial development plan, and the national economic and social development plan, and increase the budget sufficiently by following up and evaluating continually.
