ABSTRACT

          The objectives of this study were: 1) to study the quality of farmer’s life according to the Sufficiency Economy philosophy 2) to compare the opinions of farmers of improving the quality of framer’s life according to the Sufficiency Economy philosophy by classifying on personal factors 3) to study problems, barriers,  and suggestion of the way to improve quality of farmer’s life according to the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of The Office of  Rehabilitation and Development Fund, Farmers Branch in Phichit  province.

          The sampling groups used in this study were 398 farmers who were members of the Office of Farmers Rehabilitation and Development Fund, Branch of Phichit province. The sampling groups were selected by Accidental Sampling and using Quantitative Research Approach. Questionnaire was selected to be the research tool which created by researcher. The statistics employed in data analysis consist of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The Hypothesis statistical testing by mean of t-test to group of sample group, one way-ANOVA, and pair comparison by mean of Least-Significant Different (LSD)

Results of the Research:

          The overall of improve quality of farmer’s life according to the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of The Office of Farmers Rehabilitation and Development Fund, Branch of Phichit province is at high level(X=3.92). When considered at each aspect is moderation, self-immunity, reasonableness, knowledge and ethics. It found that they were at a high level for all.

          The result of comparing the personnel’s opinion of farmers toward improving quality of farmer’s life according to the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of The Office of Farmers Rehabilitation and Development Fund, Branch of Phichit province by classifying on personal factors. It revealed that different in gender and age effect to improve quality of life. It found that different in education and income, no different in effect of improve quality of farmer’s life according to the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of The Office of Farmers Rehabilitation and Development Fund, Branch of Phichit province.

          For problems, barriers,  and suggestion of the way to improve quality of farmer’s life according to the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of The Office of Farmers Rehabilitation and Development Fund, Branch of Phichit province as follows:1) it found farmers spent a lot of money for buying chemical and new technology tools for their production to gain. It made many farmers end up in debt. The office should support and let farmers realized for moderation and help each other in community and the officers take a closer care by suggestion them to apply the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy 2) Most farmers usually plant the same agricultural, these made a price of production fall and over supply. So the office will find a place or market to sell them all. 3) All production always trade in market but farmers didn’t keep or consume those production in community or family. There were a campaign encouraging people to plant and keep some production consume within family first before sell them all.       4) There was a seminar or training farmers for understanding a Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy because some farmers were not ready and did not like to change it yet. 5) There did not have any acitivites to participate in community which made them live in separately. To unite people within community by setting up a project for them to realize to be honest in their career, be patient, diligent and determined for success in their careers in the future.
