ABSTRACT
The.objectives.of.this.study.were.:.1).to.study.the.level.of.working.morale according.to.the.principle.of.Saraniyadhamma.(virtues.for.fraternal.living) of the personnel working in secondary schools in Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok, 2) to compare working morale according to the principle of Saraniyadhamma (virtues for fraternal living) of the personnel working in secondary schools in Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok, classified by personal factors, and 3) to study problems, obstacles and the ways to improve the working morale according to the principle of Saraniyadhamma (virtues for fraternal living) of the personnel working in secondary schools in Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok..The study.was.conducted.by.Mixed.Method.with.the.application.of.quantitative.and.qualitative researches. The sample of this study consisted of 222 personnel working in secondary schools in Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok, being drawn by random sampling technique. The tools used for data collection were questionnaire and interview schedule. The statistics used for data analysis were the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and analysis ANOVA (One way analysis of variance), and for comparison of the paired mean differences, Least Significant Difference technique was employed. The data collected from key informants were analyzed by contents analysis technique.
The findings were concluded as follows :
1) The overall level of working morale according to the principle of Saraniyadhamma (virtues for fraternal living) of the personnel working in secondary schools in Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok, was found at high level ( = 4.05). When considered into each aspect, it was noted at high levels in all aspects.
2) With regard to comparision of working morale according to the principle of Saraniyadhamma (virtues for fraternal living) of the personnel working in secondary schools in Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok, it was found that ages and incomes of personnel had statistical significant differences at 0.05 level of confidence, thus accepting the formulated hypotheses. While sex, level of education, marital status, position and length of working had no significant differences, therefore rejecting the set hypotheses.
3) for the problems, obstacles and the ways to improve the working morale according to the principle of Saraniyadhamma (virtues for fraternal living) of the personnel working in secondary schools in Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok, the study revealed that personnel lacked loving kindness in each others, were selfish, did not hesitate to help others, used harsh, malicious and frivolous speeches, had illwill and covetousness, concentrated only on their own interests, looked down rules and regulations, and did not listen and accept other’s opinions and ideas. To improve these, personnel should help each other with loving kindness, create human relations within groups, avoid lying, speak politely, inculcate a positive and creative thinking, wish other to be happy, help each other, aim at public interests rather than his or her own interest, follow rules and regulations of schools, and accept and welcome all opinions and comments in light with the democratic principle as guideline for school development.
