Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

The objectives of this thesis were: 1) to study the personnel administration of the administrators based on the principles of the four sublime states of mind or (Brahmavihara), 2) to do a comparative study of the personnel management of the administrators based on the principles of Brahmavihara in accordance with position and work-experience, and 3) to ascertain further suggestion and principles in applying Brahmavihara in personnel management of the administrators. The populations in this study were administrators and teachers, 240 in total. The research instrument applied in this study was questionnaire the the data analyzed with Frequency, Means, Standard Deviation (S.D.), T-test independent, F-test, and concluded with  Scheffe’s method of comparison in accessing to the method and process of implementing Brahmavihara together with content analysis.

The result of the study found that the Mean and Standard Deviation (S.D.) of the attitude of the educational administrators and teachers over the personnel administration of the educational administrators based on Brahmavihara, at the whole resulted in high scale (Means = 3.90). While ascertaining in each aspect, the educational administrators’ attitude resulted in high scale, categorizing from the largest to the smallest as Metta: loving-kindness (Mean = 3.99), Karuna: compassion (Mean = 3.95), Mudita: sympathetic joy (Mean = 3.84),  Upekkha: equanimity (Mean = 3.84).

For the comparative approach of the personnel administration of the educational administrators based on Brahmavihara at the schools, the study found that the educational administrators and teachers, at the whole picture and in each aspect, had some different attitude and had remarkable statistical significance at .01. in which it opposed to the set hypothesis.  While, examining in each aspect, the study found that there was no difference in the case of Upekkha. On the contrary, there were some differences for Metta, Karuna, and Upekkha were different and had remarkable statistical significance at .01 which agreed to the set hypothesis.

The comparative approach of the attitude over personnel administration of the educational administrators and teachers based on Brahmavihara at the schools at the Educational Development Center Area 1 – 4 under the Office of Khonkaen Primary Educational Service Area 1, the study found that ,by works-experience, the educational administrators and teachers, at the whole picture and in each aspect, had some different attitude and had remarkable statistical significance at .01.  While, examining in each aspect, the study found that there was no difference in the case of Upekkha. On the contrary, there were some differences for Metta, Karuna, and Upekkha and had remarkable statistical significance at .01.

Nevertheless, the processes in applying Brahmavihara on personnel management of the educational administrators, was to promote Brahmavihara namely Metta (loving-kindness), Karuna (compassion), Mudita (sympathetic joy) Upekkha (equanimity), and accordingly applied to them to the field work of personnel management for the further development and effective progress.
