ABSTRACT
The purposes of this research were to study the conditions of problems of the academic management work of the community college and to study the guideline of the academic management work of the community college of 4 sides i.e. 1. Curriculum Program Management 2. Instruction/Learning Management 3. Teacher Manning Management 4. Student Development Management by randomized sampling groups comprising of community college students of 230 persons using Questionnaire instrumental in the collection of data, analysis, and computerized data processing for calculation of various statistics e.g. percentage, mean, and Standard Deviation (S.D.)
The results of the study were with findings that :
1. The results of the study of the opinion concerning the conditions of problems of the management of the academic work of the community college of 4 sides i.e. Curriculum Program Management, Instruction/Learning Management, Teacher Manning Management , Student Development Management on overall picture being with the opinion of much level and on the result of the study on each side it was found that the opinion was with the level of much on all sides with order of much average to little average of curriculum program management, student development management, instruction/learning management, teacher manning management respectively.
2. The results of the study were with suggestion on the guidelines of management of the academic work of the community college as following: 1. Concerning Curriculum Program Management, a number of courses should be added to be varied and consistent with the needs of the students and so that the students could select to learn. More public relations should be made concerning the courses used in the learning/instructing to interested group including admission for further studies; 2. Concerning Instruction/Learning Management, the arrangement of supporting documentation should be made for students to understand better. Learning should be given time for the students to make self-study. Students should taken outside the classroom and exercise actual work practices, or the College may arrange more practice than theoretic classroom, being with techniques students to be more enthusiastic in learning a particular subject. Students should be daring to show off in front of the public. 3. Concerning Teacher Manning Management, teachers should be more flexible in assigning homework because attending students are old aged and family persons. If the subject teacher is absent substitution teacher should be made available. Teachers should teach slowly so that students understand. The teachers should be assessed of their teaching. 4. Concerning Student Development Management, an adjustment of the fundamental knowledge of the students should be made to be closer with others and more suitable. Outside classroom activities should be made to make students no so bored and so that students enjoy learning more. There is also a desire for provision of sources of leaning for students. |
