ABSTRACT
The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the Ecc. administrative monks’ role in Sangha affair administration of public utility of the temples in Pathumthani Province, 2) to compare the Ecc. administrative monks’ role in Sangha affair administratio of public utility of the temples in Pathumthani Province, being separated in individual factors and 3) to study he problems, obstacles and suggestions of the Ecc. administrative monks’ role in Sangha affair administration of public utility of the temples in PathumThani Province.
. The research was conducted by the Mixed Research Methodology, consisting of Quantitative Research of which the data were collected by using a questionnaire and Qualitative Research of which the data collected from the sampling group of 366 Buddhist monks. Analyzing the data made by evaluating the frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The t-test and the F-test were made by the way of One Way Analysis of Variance and In-Depth Interview being done with 5 Buddhist monks who were the higher Sangha affair ad minitrators in Pathumthani Province.
From the results of research, it has been found that ;
1. In the Ecc. administrative monks’ role in Sangha affair administration of public utility of the temples in Pathumthani Province, it has been found that the Buddhist monks’ opinion of the Ecc. administrative monks’ role in Sangha affair administration of public utility of the temples in Pathumthani Province, in general, was at the high level X = 3.85. When it was considered in detail of each aspect, it has been found that the Buddhist monks’ opinion was at the high level in every item.
2. From the result of comparing the Ecc. administrative monks’ role in Sangha affair administration of public utility of the temples in Pathumthani Province, testing the hypothesis by analyzing the difference of variables, it has been that the Buddhist monks whose age, year of rains-retreat, general educational qualification, Dhamma study qualification, Pali study qualification and position were different did not differentiate their opinions of the Ecc. administrative monks’ role in Sangha affair administration of public utility of the temples in Pathumthani Province. Hereby, the set hypothesis was rejected.
3. The results of studying the problems, obstacles and the ways of solving the problems of the Ecc. administrative monks’ role in Sangha affair administration of public utility of the temples in Pathumthani Province were 1) the problems of lacking the knowledge for planning and developing the temples, 2) the problems of the budget that was not sufficient for construction and restoration and 3) the problems of offering the knowledge of managing the religious property made without system. The suggestions consisted of 1) the knowledge of temple development in the same line should be offered, 2) planning the construction should be considered on suitability and sufficiency of usefulness, 3) the committee for controlling the process should be appointed from the Ecc. administrative monks in each zone, and 4) the knowledge should be continuously given to the personnel on the duty of taking care, preserving and managing the religious property.
4. The summarized result of an interview on the Ecc. Buddhist monks’ role in Sangha affair administration of public utility of the temples in Pathumthani Province could be divided into the aspects as follow; 1) For the temple development, in general, it was formally made by the Ecc. administrative monks, who were on the responsible duty in each temple, according to the Ecc. administrators’ policy of developing the temples to be the spiritual center of the people, 2) For construction and restoration of Monks’ lodge and appliances, the Ecc. administrative monks should improve the environment condition and scenery of the temples to be clean, shady and refreshing and beautiful and 3) For taking care and managing the religious property of the temples, the Buddhist monks who are the Ecc. administrators should visit and give advices to the Ecc. administrative monks of the temples or hold the meeting and training the responsible personnel systematically. |
