ABSTRACT

                        The objectives of this thesis were: to study the history and the development of believe and ritual of Nadoon district's People towards Prathat Nadoon, Nadoon District,  Mahasarakham Province and to study analytically the values of faith and ritual regarding its influence over the living of Nadoon district's People.

                        The result of the study found that Nadoon district's People Resources believes in the Supernatural of relics contained within the Buddha. Nadoon district's People Resources seeks to conduct the purification of body, speech and mind to worship the relics. The sacred relics of the Buddha. With rituals such as the ritual sacrifice ritual Make a votive offering. Ritual apology. Bathing ritual relics. The candle lit. Meditation. And over the relics blankets etc. It is believed that this will be done under the protection of the Buddha. Peace and happiness. Buddhist belief Cause a worship Skip relics in 15 days in the third lunar month every year.

People believe that Phrathat Nadoon was a holy Pagoda; therefore, they always play worship to the Pagoda and some requesting for good luck and fortunate. Those practices still exist in these modern days. Moreover, annually there are many kinds of rite and ritual preferment which are processed in respecting to the Pagoda.

                        Positively, such belief and ritual practices have a great impact on the ways of living of  Nadoon district's People. They live in peace and united. More importantly, that faithful belief and ritual of Nadoon district's People towards PraThat Nadoon contributes several progress to Nadoon District such as educational institute, economic, culture, and educational centre.
