ABSTRACT

                         The objectives of this thesis were 1) to study the principles of sufficiency economy in earning living accorded with the principle of four requisites (Paccaya) in Buddhism, 2) to study the general problems of earning living accorded with the  principle of four requisites of the teachers at Khoklampittayakom School, Chaturaphakphiman district, Roi-et province, and 3) to study the method of implementing the principle of the sufficiency economy in earning living accorded with the  principle of four requisites of the teachers at Khoklampittayakom School, Chaturaphakphiman district, Roi-et province. This study was conducted based on mixed research methodology: qualitative and quantitative. In-depth interview to the Key informant with the population, 97 teachers at Khoklampittayakom School, Chaturaphakphiman district, Roi-et province was also applied in this study. The research instrument applied in this study were questionnaire,  Statistics Package for the Social Science (SPSS), and had reliability at 0.97. Furthermore, the statistics used in this study were: Frequency, Percentage, and Standard Deviation (S.D.).

                         The result of the study found that

                         The principle of the sufficiency economy, according to Buddhism, was being moderate in consuming requisites, thoughtfully utilized the requisites for the total benefit. It also included being happy with what one have, and earning living in the righteous means, not doing harm to the others.      

                         The general problems of earning living accorded with the principle of four requisites of the teachers at Khoklampittayakom School, Chaturaphakphiman district, Roi-et province were mostly due to improper management and corrupted social environment. For instant, they likely to waste income by running after the mass modern products, foods, and clothing which eventually brought them in deep debt. Some of them even brought very expensive mass product in which overweight the benefits. 

                   For the application of the principles of sufficiency economy in earning living of the teachers at Khoklampittayakom School, Chaturaphakphiman district, Roi-et province, this study found that, at the whole picture and in each aspect resulted in middle scale. While, examining in each aspect, all 6 aspects resulted in high scale categorizing from the highest Mean to the lowest as medicine equalized with being reasonable, food was contentment, and again medicine with contentment. Another set, all 6 aspects resulted in middle scale categorizing from the highest Mean to the lowest as recommendation and being reasonable, food and sheltering, and medicine and contentment.

                      Last but not least, the processes in applying the principles of the sufficiency economy in earning living in accorded with the four requisites of the teachers at Khoklampittayakom School, Chaturaphakphiman district, Roi-et province, was to educate the related factors that corresponded to the earning living activities by implementing the concept and principle of self-sufficiency economic of the teachers at Khoklampittayakom School, Chaturaphakphiman district, Roi-et province. Furthermore, there should be a case study and behavior observance over the earning living activities in accorded with the principle of sufficiency economy of the teachers at Khoklampittayakom School, Chaturaphakphiman district, Roi-et province.
