ABSTRACT
The thesis entitled A study of the Buddhist Administration on the Organization Of Active Saving Groups at Ban Khokmon, Namnao District, Phetchabun Province had objectives as followed: to study a historical development of active saving groups and the concept of Buddhist administration on the active saving groups organization at Ban Khokmon, to study the Buddhist principles that could be applied to the administrative management of the active saving groups organization at Ban Khokmon, and to study a result of applying Buddhist principles to the administrative management of the active saving groups organization at Ban Khokmon.
The result of the study found that the active saving groups organization at Ban Khokmon was formed and gradually developed since 3rd of May in 2005. It progressed with remarkable result; therefore, nowadays there were 1,240 members in the groups and had total share at 4,000,000,000 (4 million Bath). More importantly, this active saving groups organization implemented the Buddhist principles in running the administrative management in very systematic ways.
The Buddhist principles that applied to the administrative management of the active saving groups organization at Ban Khokmon were: The Four Bala (strength, power, force) namely Pabba-bala: power of wisdom, Viriya-bala: power of energy, Anavajja-bala: power of faultlessness or blamelessness, Savgaha-bala: power of sympathy; Sappurisa-dhamma (virtues of gentleman or a good man), Sacca (truth and honesty), Pabba (wisdom), Ditthadhammikattha (virtues conducive to benefits in the presents), Iddhipada (path of accomplishment), and that of Samma-ajiva (right livelihood).
The result of applying Buddhist principles to the administrative system of the active saving groups organization at Ban Khokmon brought a lot of remarkable progress and successfulness, especially in the case of services such as social welfare, medical fee, income, and funds for the investment. Furthermore, by applying Buddhist principles to the administrative management of the organization, it resulted with ethical value thus the members of the active saving groups realized human nature that all love happiness and hated suffering. Therefore, they shared love, mutual understanding, and avoided whatever might lead to conflict among the groups. Such actions led them to success and stability. Last but not least, the active saving groups also formed a certain regulation in maintaining the right for the groups members, for instance those who smoke would be fined the fee for the hospital admitted cost. And, they were also united for all economic activities; so, they would not be adverse for a selfish merchant and businessman. However, what brought the groups to the positive changes were: pride and positive thought of each member to seek for a new plan of local economic activity together with the conservation of environment for the total benefits of the society.
