ABSTRACT
This research has three main objectives as follows ; 1) to study the conception of community welfare services in Buddhism, 2) to study the conception of community welfare services in the social welfare organization, and 3) to study background, principle, characteristic and process of the community welfare services of WatPrathatChohae, Chohae Sub - District, Muang District, Phrae Province. The research design are documentary and qualitative research , 40 samples were selected by purposive – type sampling. The collected data was gained through documentary collecting form ,interview form and focus group discussion questions. Content analysis technique was used to analyze documentary study content and field study content . The results of the study are followings :-
1. Four main findings of the Community Welfare Services in Buddhism are followings :- 1) There were no clear patterns , morality and ethics principles were used instead ,which focus on personal benefit , public benefit and ultimate benefit (nirvana) 2) Dharma principles relating to community welfare consist of 4 Rāja-sangahavatthus , 10 Nathakaranadhammas, 4 sangahavatthusand 3 Atthas 3) Buddhist welfare services consist of (1) assistance in term of individual sake (2) assistance in term of society sake (3) assistance in term of mind sake 4) Buddhist welfare services consist of (1) rational (2) moderate oriented (3)self-reliance (4) balancing between object and mind (5) gradually (6) consistent with the purpose of life (end suffering) (7) not cause suffering to both oneself and others
2. Five main findings of the Community Welfare Services in the social welfare organization are followings :- 1) Meaning :- any services which create happiness ,stability, safety within people and their community by using holistic way of implementing 2) characteristic:- (1) mutual assistance (2) meet the needs of the community (3) the identity of the community (4) problems encounter and solving (5) experience collecting (6) lifestyle (7) creating community leader (8) create community network (9) adaptation 3) conception :- create human and community stability, create a sense of one's own, reduce dependence on external, lead to self-reliance from birth to death 4) principle:- (1) Consistent with the way of life (2) gradually (3) money is just a tool (4) not cause discrimination in the community (5) can be linked from birth to death (6) can be both the giver and the recipient (7) have to do with love and patience 5) process :- (1) Sparked the idea (2) seeking for local potential and local resources (3) extend leader to cover core operating areas (4) collaboration with local agencies. (5) initiate people welfare fund (6) fund administration (7) monitoring & evaluating (8) extension
3. Four main findings of the Community Welfare Services of WatPrathatChohae, Chohae, Sub - District, Muang District, Phrae Province are followings :- 1) background information :- first occurrence were the event of serious flooding around the temple area in former time which no evidence mention about the year , suffering people migrated to live in the temple area and subsequently stay permanently with the authority of the temple. Community welfare services of WatPrathatChohae occurred since then and expand widely untill now 2) principles:- (1) 9 favorable principles (2) complementing of temple and community to return good welfare to the society 3) characteristics :- (1) career and income promotion (2) education promotion (3) public benefit activity promotion (4) health care promotion (5) quality of life development promotion (6) participation (7) mental development (8) complacency 4) process :- (1) P : Plan in order to have a good preparation. (2) D : Do means the implementation along the plan (3) C : Check means monitoring the implementation of the plan (4) A : Action means improvement.
The 2 suggestions of this study imply the future research on the following issues :- 1) the study of public expectations on community welfare services of WatPrathatChohae and 2) The factors affecting success of community welfare services of WatPrathatChohae. |
