ABSTRACT
The purposes of this research were 1) to study of SakhonnakhonRajabhat university students view towards learning management process on the morality of lecturer for the way of life., and 2) to study the learning on the method to develop ethical subject for the way of life.
In terms of perceptions to the teaching and learning process, it showed that the perception of the students in teaching and learning process of teacher was at a high level. Considering in each aspect, it showed that they had the highest level of perception in the project of Dhamma practice in religious places and the project of making merit in religious places in SakonNakhon Province (mean = 5). Moreover, the students had the high perceptions in the teaching method of student center as = 4.99, the lecture method of the five precepts as = 4.93, and the ability to arrange the teaching and learning continuously corresponding to five percepts as = 4.90, respectively.
The perceptions and practices of the five precepts by the students were 38.27 percent. They perceived that the five basic precepts refered to regularity, which was the regularity of dhamic principal that made an individual respectful. The five precepts included abstaining from harming living beings, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying and taking intoxication. Of the students, 13.78 percent perceived that the five precepts were basic moral practices of Buddhists for rehearsing their body and speech in order to become a perfect human, and others were 12.76 percent, respectively.
The perception of the students to the importance of the five precepts to human way of life, which they prevented individuals from causing troubles to others, no stealing, no sexual misconduct, and no taking intoxication, was 61.22 percent. Moreover, the perception of the students to the importance of the five precepts to Buddhists which allowed people to rehearse their body and speech in order to become perfect human was 38.78 percent.
To apply the five precepts to daily life, the students concluded that holding all five precepts was a good thing, but mostly people could not hold the first precept because killing live beings for food was essential for human life. However, they would be scared of sins if they hold the precepts, and therefore they would not kill benificial animals such as buffaloes and elephants, not steal things from others, and not cause troubles to others. Then they went to a temple for moral practices and merit making. Thus, the perception in which the five precepts were very beneficial to people who practiced and further resulted in better society, nation and humankind was 100 percent. In conclusion, learning and teaching arrangement of teachers could nurture students to practice the five precepts in the high level. |
