Abstract

              Entitled this research is “study the conservation and propagation the tradition of Kathina ceremony of people in Trakanpheutphon municipality, Trakanpheutphon District, Ubon ratchathani province by aimed to study ;1)  the concept of the tradition of Kathina  ceremony in Theravada Buddhism, 2) to study the conservation and propagation of the tradition  Kathina  ceremony of  people in Trakanpheutphon municipality,Trakanpheutphon District, Ubon ratchathani province, and 3)  to compare opinions on the conservation and propagation the tradition of  Kathina ceremony by differentiate sex, age, occupation, education, income . Quantitative research and Program SPSS were used in this research.

This study found that:       

              1.   Attitude for the conservation and propagation of Kathina tradition of people in Trakanpheutphon municipality, Ubon Ratchathani Province found that was high level all the factors. 

              2.   Attitude for the conservation and propagation of Kathina tradition of people in Trakanpheutphon municipality, Ubon Ratchathani Province which differenced by age, education, income, and profession but not for each factors.

              3.   Suggestion for the problem of the conservation and propagation the Kathina tradition of people in Trakanpheutphon municipality , Ubon Ratchathani Province conclude that ; 1) leaders of community, leaders of sections in municipality , leaders of family , staff of official , knower in community, Buddhist monks ,well introduce and advice the people who stay in this community while celebrated the Kathina ceremony.   2) helping the requisites and support all activities in ceremony and other traditions. 3) to inform the people and advice  the youth to  join the ceremony for conservation from generation to generation.  4) attitude for the conservation and propagation the Kathina tradition especially have well done for people , have the format for the tradition to urge faith of people and people who arrange the ceremony must have all requisites , Buddhist monks well practice.
5) attitude for age of people who arrange the ceremony was middle age and understand the Kathina ceremony, quality the Wat which and accept the Kathina for each years and also can instruct the people for join in this ceremony.   6) the people who was middle age lacking to understand for the tradition and not enough time for study and join the ceremony but only for make money. 7) Attitude for income and profession the people who stay in this community was importance role in Kathina tradition can join and donate the four requisites to Buddhist monks , the rich man and merchant can to be the host of Kathina all years for the MahaKathina , and Kathinasamaki.
