Abstract
There are three main purposes in this thesis; firstly, to study the method of practicing the Vipassananā-Kammatthana that is occurred in the Theravada: the Doctrine of the Elders.
Secondly, to study the teaching method of Prapalad Chatchawan Shinasapo (Sirimaha). Lastly, to study the conform between the teaching method of Prapalad Chatchawan Shinasapo and the description in the Buddhism doctrine. By clarifying data from the Tripitaka, commentary, petitions, Buddhism doctrine, books, document, CD-ROMs, researches and related materials and co-operative in observing the teaching of Prapalad Chatchawan Shinasapo. Moreover conducted the interviewing the mentor and then rearranged the observation by the experts of the field.
From the study, found that the Vipassananā-Kammatthana that occurred in the Buddhism scripture is carry out the Satipatthana: foundations of mindfulness which are contemplation of body, contemplation of feeling, contemplation of mind; mindfulness regards thoughts, and Dhamma (contemplation of mind-objects; mindfulness as regards ideas). Stipatthana is the only way to achieve the Ariyasacca: The Four Noble Truths. It is also known as Ariyamagga: the Noble Eightfold Path. It is the fundamental of Vipassanananā: insight-knowledge and it results to enlighten of the Magga-nana: knowledge of the path, Phala-nana:knowledge of Fruition and finally the Nirvana.
From research study, the teaching method of Prapalad Chatchawan Shinasapo (Sirimaha) is the study of Vipassananā-Kammatthana: Satipatthana taught by the traditional mentors for many generations, using the principle of breathes determination and the manner of the venerable MahasiSayadaw (Soponmahathera). It’s called “Pongnho-Yupnho (breathing and releasing)”.The practitioners will acknowledge the principle of doing by contemplation of the body, consciousness, mindfulness, Dhamma and consideration of main-emotional and sub-emotional at present. Every movement likes walking, sitting, standing, turnaround and contemplation of the body in detail had to declare to mentors for adjusting Indriya: controlling faculty and solve any issue for practitioners. Moreover, the additional explanation is clarified the main principle that evidently in the scripture by bring in the precisely and suitable technique. In order to help the Vipassananā-Kammatthana practice and develop mind to establish meditation, enlightenment and the Noble Eightfold Path, it is a crucial tool to accomplish the ultimate goal in Buddhism which is the reach of Nirvana; the way to escape suffering.
Acccording to the research, the Vipassananā-kammatthana teaching method by Prapalad Chatchawan Shinasapo (Sirimaha) is coordinate to the Buddism scripture in any aspects. The minor differentiate that might occur will be insignificant and the practitioners would comprehended and could follow to achieve the Nirvana. |
