Abstract
The study of Practitioners Perception of the Four Foundations of mindfulness at Pichayayātikaram Temple, Bangkok is related to quantitative research. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the knowledge of practitioners’ perception of the Four Foundations of mindfulness at Pichayayātikaram Temple Bangkok and to study the relation of practitioner perception of the Four Foundations of mindfulness at Pichayayātikaram Temple Bangkok. The Sampling groups for the research are 80 practitioners from Pichayayātikaram Temple that sampled by accidental sampling and the statistics used to analyze the data are frequency, percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation and Chi square. The results of this study found that the level of understanding of the practitioner perception in the Four Foundations of mindfulness on Kayānupassanā, Vedanānupasanā, Cittānupasanā and Dhammānupasanā, in the whole view was at good level( =3.57,S.D.=0.89) Considering group of Vedanānupasanā ( =3.76,S.D.=0.81) and groupof Kayānupassanā ( =3.67,S.D.=1.09)was at good level,group of Cittānupasanā( =3.49,S.D.=0.64) and group of Dhammānupasanā( =3.35,S.D.=0.64) it was moderate level.
Relevant analysis of variables; gender, sila observation, age, highest education, occupation and frequency of performance on the Four Foundations of Kayānupassanā, Vedanānupasanā, Cittānupasanā and Dhammānupasanā found that gender, sila observation and occupation had relevance at statistical significance 0.05 with Vedanānupasanā and age had relevance at statistical significance 0.05 with Cittānupasanā, Kayānupassanā and Dhammānupasanā had no relevance at statistical significance 0.05 |
