Abstract
The “Pattern” of community engaged monks aspect shows the relations between the community and monks: the working motivation is first mainly caused by the social context that those monks living in and realize they are part of the community that must solve the their community problems. The second cause is the conditional context that the main cultural obligation for monks is to cultivate human spiritual. And the last cause is the social condition that the community need the dharma instructions from the monks. Nevertheless, these different motivations become similar when the monks self-engaged to the community, they themselves will be fused with the community and eventually, it’s result the inspiration and the self-devotion in their livelong work. The socially-engaged Buddhism concept is 1) All things are linked to each other, both abstract and substantial ones. Monks are linked to Dharma by their practice. And the social phenomenon, monks are inseparably linked with the society. 2) Monks cultivate themselves by understanding the linkage. 3) Monks engage themselves in the community as part of it to solve the problems as well.
